Did you pay retail or upgrade for your iPhone 6/6+?

Same. Curious to see how common it is. Apparently people with ATT still get upgrades and get to keep unlimited.

Yep. We have 4 lines each with unlimited. All lines eligible for upgrades. I upgraded and got a 64GB 6 for $299 and still kept my unlimited and grandfathered 700 minute family plan with mobile to ANY mobile, roll over minutes, unlimited text and aList.

Perhaps people are in between upgrade cycles? Buy an iPhone 5S on contract, then buy a 6 off contract and sell your 5S. Buy a 6S on contract and sell your 6. Rinse, repeat.

I paid retail because it's less money over the long term. I pay 25 dollars a month for my unlimited data and text with 2.5 gb a month. ( t-mobile family plan is 100 dollars for 4 lines ).

Full retail, it's much cheaper over two years and I'm not tied down to anything.

It's a little less than $500 extra when I get the phone, but I pay $50+ a month less.

Basically if it's a $500 difference, it can't be more than $21 more a month to be on a contract or you're wasting money. Also don't forgot about how much you'll pay in taxes and fees compared to a prepaid plan that includes them.

Paid $1027 with tax for the 128gb 6 Plus. I upgrade yearly then sell previous phone on eBay. Net is about the same as upgrading with subsidy from carrier. But I get the new whizzy phone yearly. I pre-ordered the 6 Plus through Verizon, it doesn't ship until 10/31
