I did. I setup my 16PM exactly how my 15PM was and when I added a case, I could not notice the screen difference. The camera control really isn't a "oh wow" feature and isn't worth $1300. The 16PM feels heavier as well.

I did not return mine BUT I did go from a 14 pro max to a 16 plus.

I couldn’t resist the colors and feel.

My biggest thing that was holding me back was the frame rate of the display, I just couldn’t get over that factor for quite a while. I was actually upset psychologically that Apple had this much control over my choice, and the fact that they didn’t have the adaptive display on the regulars at this point is just annoying.

Nevertheless I caved because I really didn’t like the pro’s design and how it got slightly bigger for my hand that was already struggling.

I’m pretty happy with my 16 but definitely notice the frame drops, but if I could do it before the high refresh rate was a thing I think I’ll adjust in time.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe you. There are a few of these posts every single phone to get attention, rage baiting and other things, but I simply don't believe that you thought it was going to be mind-blowing. That you didn't know the features BEFORE you got it being a member of these forums.

Up to you if you believe me. I buy EVERY year no matter what. This year, it just wasn't enough to justify the cost. Camera control after using it was no big deal.

Completely different experience for me. Like you I upgraded from 15PM to 16PM - specifically both are 256GB Natural. Unlike you, however, I find the 16PM to be noticeably better in battery life and heat dissipation. Apple didn't lie when they highlighted improved thermals. That alone is worth the upgrade, in my opinion. But I'm also very much enjoying the camera control button. I don't really notice the size difference, but I consider that a GOOD thing because essentially I am getting ever-so-slightly more screen real estate without affecting the feel in hand.

I didn't use it long enough to notice heat and a full battery cycle. Mrwhostheboss did a battery test and it's marginally better than the 15PM. 2 hours. I guess you could consider that a big upgrade.

Yeah for me I need to squeak out as much battery as possible, my usage is heavy. 15PM would get pretty hot at times - not scorching like many reported prior to the software patch, but still warmer than I'd like. I think warmer than Apple would care to acknowledge, hence not only improving the thermals this year, but putting that into their marketing materials and mentioning it during the presentation. If you weren't seeking that improvement - ie didn't notice the difference on the 16PM or not wanting to keep the 16PM at any cost to improve it - then all the better for you. One less reason for you to upgrade.

Of course coming from last year phone is not worth it for 90% of people, but coming from my 13 PM it is a pretty decent upgrade. I personally noticed the bigger screen right of the bat (is way tailer) and you notice it even more when watching a 16:9 video with huge black bars on each sides now. Plus, I have the dynamic island (witch I really like personally), action button, brighter screen, Always on display, better performance and better cameras now.

Plus, I prefer the new lighter and more comfortable design compared to my 13 PM so I'm pretty satisfied at the moment.

You couldn't have taken 10 seconds to read about what the phone offered before going to the trouble of buying it?

I mean this post works, you're getting lots of attention. So success I guess?

Nope, I have had a very long day in the Trafford Centre Apple. After 4 hours of faff (thanks bank for blocking my transaction) came away with the 16+ in teal. I had both the ultramarine and teal reserved. Despite all of the talk of the colours being vibrant I was actually surprised by how muted they are. I would describe the ultramarine as a light purple and the teal as mint. They’re both stunning but have to be seen & I’m glad I had both reserved. The teal ended up being my favourite.

I also tested out the AirPods 4. The ANC works really well and done a good job at muting the very loud & busy store. I didn’t commit at the time but I’ve decided on the drive home I will get them.

Both devices are fantastic!

I picked up the AirPods 4 ANC, and today I used for the first time. I was right next to my outdoor heat pump which emits a pretty loud fan hum, and I was shocked at how well it cancelled it out. Not 100% like the AirPods Pro 2 probably would've, but a good 95%+ of it, and that is well worth it to me since I can't stand any rubber tip headphones. It's going to do a great job on airplanes!

Are y’all never near chargers? I don’t understand why people act like they need as much battery as possible when they probably work behind a desk lol

So they never totally fixed the 15's heat issue? It was not entirely software based then?

I have the 14 Pro.

15 Pro Max to 16 Pro Max. My wife got my 15 Pro Max which is mint condition and still apparently retains 100% battery and she's happy with it.

But man, being honest. This time I felt I got exactly the same phone I had previously (probably shouldn't have picked natural titanium again, but I love the color and feel that it's the best for using naked, although the new black looks sexy). Don't perceive any speed difference, other than the camera button everything seems the same.

It even gets as hot as the 15 Pro Max did, so not sure they really fixed anything in it, but we'll see after a few days.
