Didn't get an iPhone 6 today? Here why

He was on my flight from Portland, OR.

All bags were full of iPhone 6s. He laughed about it.

I went buy the washington sq. mall apple store around 1pm and it was crazy to see how still 100's of people lined up and most all appeared to be scalpers.
 
And how it was? From what country?

He speaks english?

They are going to sell all that phones for big money. You could ask him how much for one

Yeah, you could tell who the scalpers were, the head guy was handing out gift cards from his big stack to these guys in line and then walking off.

How is this guy going to get back to his country without having to PAY TAXES FOR 129129512 sealed iPhones??? :\
I have a 5s and a 6 and I need to buy one more 6 for a friend overseas and I am afraid that I'll have to pay taxes and this guy gets away with tons of them :\
 
So easy to eliminate this problem.
Force everyone to activate at the store, only allot a certain number of off contract purchases.
At least for the first week or month.

Silver crosses palms (bribes)? Slip a few of those iPhones to the Customs guy where you're arriving...

Who says he got away with it?
 
Maybe he purchased on his business plan and plans to surprise his employees on Monday?
 
Not sure why a free market, or Apple for that matter in particular, would or could limit sales of their products ...
 
All this situation with scalpers is worrying and I think Apple could do far more but they prefer the endless lines of people camping and queueing for the iPhone...

They do activate it at the store...I go to the Apple store a lot and in NH we have no sales tax, so all the people in Boston/MA all come up here for the tax free sales. Everytime i go there there will be at least 2 people buying around 50+ phones at a time. Apple sells them to them, opens them up and activates each one, then they wrap it back up.

A guy i work with has a son who works at that same Apple store and says they have one guy that comes in every couple weeks and buys a PALLET of iphones, they actually do it in the middle of the night i guess for his safety lol.

I mean, free market right? If they're not stealing them then there's nothing wrong with it. I doubt Apple wants to spend the time policing phone sales on launch day. It sucks but I don't see a way around it.
