Control center doesn't work as well on light backgrounds as it did in beta 6. Before it used to dim on a light background so you could see the white elements. In the GM, the background still dims above the control center panel, but the panel itself stays the same brightness. I have no explanation for this change except that someone at Apple goofed. It was working fine in every previous beta. Also, the amount of transparency seems like it has been reduced as we'll throughout the OS. See the attached screenshot.

I can see why they made this change. In order for you to be able to adjust the brightness of your iPad, you need to be able to see how bright it is as you move the slider. If everything gets dimmed, you can't tell how bright it is.

There's like a little subtle extra whistle-like sound with every single tone, even the old ones. I like it

Usually there's a thread of all the differences between each version, but I've not been able to find it, so I'm creating one. Please post the differences you've noticed!

I'll start...

  • New ringtones and alerts sounds
  • New lock sound (added echo)
  • No unlock sound (it's been removed)
  • New charge sound
  • New Siri "mic" sound
  • 33 new wallpapers

I see new sounds but only 2 wallpapers under Apple Wallpapers… what gives?

That might be the reason. But in the old version, the control center itself (toggles, music controls, etc.) didn't get dimmed, only the background behind it did. I think there were enough elements still at the original brightness level for you to set it appropriately. The new way causes the control center to be unreadable with certain backgrounds.

I've noticed the stock TXT/iMessage send and receive sounds when you're in a conversation have been changed slightly. And I like them!

They've updated them all. I like the new Tri-tone.

nope, I hate them. the tri-tone and email ding sound way too shrill. I've just turned off notification sounds since I can't choose my own notifications sound and am stuck with tri-tone and have switched to using the gmail app as I much prefer their email alert sound to ding.

Why can't you just change them?
