Anyone else addicted to buying digital games? I mean between PS+ XB Games/Deals with Gold there are so many fantastic deals out there.

The irony is my backlog is ridiculously long but I feel somewhat justified for waiting in getting these amazing deals on "brand new" games that I will eventually get to.

My criteria:
It has to be 50% or more
Have a favorable review tendency among the big names, GameSpot, Metacritic, users, etc

That is really about it. I have a PS4 and XB1 and I am getting close to loading them fully.

My concern is that they shut down servers or somehow I cannot access this backlog 3-5 years or however long it is before I play them.

So who else has the addiction!!!! :)

A few years ago I used to buy loads of games that I still haven't played. Usually cheap little indie games, or those classic ported games like the various Capcom fighters on PS3. Stopped doing that though, realised I'm happier getting hooked on a game and playing it through to completion (currently on Star Wars Battlefront).

I do hope to play through them all some day though! I keep setting goals for myself like "hey I'll marathon loads of PS3 games once I set up the den in the attic!", but of course it never happens.

I am with you on concentrating on one game and trying to finish it but that doesn't mean it stops me from buying more and adding to the backlog for fantastic sales!

I never every buy new games or full price. I can't justify that with how big my backlog is of amazing games like the Witcher 3, Bloodborne, Halo 5, etc.

Also I never play online and only campaigns so that is why maybe I don't need or care for the new games instantly.

Deals with Gold and Games with Gold are downright amazing with the sales they have and titles offered. Now all Games with Gold will be XB1 backwards compatible I found out?!? Mind blown.

Nope. I spent the last @ year and a half getting through my backlog and I plan to keep it down. Currently sitting at 5 unplayed games, 2 of those are rather lengthy RPG's too. That will be enough to keep me busy for several months. Of course if I see a spectacular deal I won't pass it up!

Yea thats why I built it into my criteria for purchasing content that it has to be at least 50% off. For me I will not pay $60 for new games just because I have such a backload of amazing games already.

The only game I may may may pay $60 for when it is released is Uncharted.

I just love the deals that these digital copies get in comparison to the physical copies. Yes they both go on sale but the ability to see The Order 1886 on sale during the Flash Sale for $8, buy it at the office, download it to my ps4, come home and it is ready waiting for me is fantastic.

I haven't bought a single game over 5$ the last 2 years, simply because of my back log. And now I've even told myself not to buy indie games, unless I REALLY want them, to make sure the back log doesn't grow anymore.

Exactly!! It's a blessing and a curse that I am always so far behind the fun discussion of a game but man I love getting big name titles like Bloodborne or others with Deals with Gold or a Flash Sale for like $10 or less.

Well, $30 on an unplayed game is still $30 wasted. However, I do acknowledge that with digital only games, a sale may end and it goes back to regular price. If it's $30 b/c it's old though, may want to wait a year to see if it'll drop even further.
