I currently have Direct TV satellite and want to keep it. Can someone confirm that if I sign up for this (to get the discounted Apple TV) it will not impact my Direct TV satellite account? Thanks.

I get DirecTV Now for $10/month for having a cell plan with AT&T. Works great most of the time but freezes some on Investigation Discovery(which is about the only channel I watch LOL).

I was just about to mention Investigation Discovery. That's the only one that freezes up on me too!

Is there any advantage to an Apple TV 4K if you do not have a 4K TV?

This is tempting to get a second Apple TV so I don't have to keep moving my existing ATV4 between my office and the projector in the bedroom. Hell, the projector is only 720p!

I got both through this offer. My first is the non 4k and you can't notice a difference at all besides when playing 4k content. It is so much nicer not having to move apple tv room to room. Do it!

Kinda hoping it fixes itself eventually...can't beat $10/month when I only watch about 3 channels.

Did it for the 4K Apple TV. Direct TV streaming is a joke, not sure how anyone actually uses it

I have very few issues with it. Ill take DTVN over all the others all day long.

Correct. Since they are separate services, there will be no impact whatsoever with DTV Satellite services.

Can someone in the know please explain in greater detail how a current directvnow subscriber should go about getting this deal?

I can obviously start a new directvnow subscription with my wife's email and cancel mine... but thought there was a way to keep my current subscription running and use the "alias" mentioned in the original post. I don't see a way to make that happen in my directvnow account settings.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated. Thanks

If you have Bank of America they give you $35 on top of this deal for trying direct tv.

Video quality of Direct tv isn’t that great but a Apple TV for 70 bucks is an amazing deal

I took advantage of this deal last month - very glad that I did! If you are a Bank of America customer, check your cash back deals as there usually is a deal for an additional $30 back when using a BoA card to pay for DirecTV (I confirmed this also extends to DTV Now). You should be able to grab an AppleTV for $75. Mine came in less than a week.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I hope I am wrong!) but I think this deal may have expired - I'm not seeing anything in Bank AmeriDeals.

Can you provide a little more specifics on that? I've been looking at the BankAmeriDeals on my BoA CC account and there's no DirecTV or DirecTVnow -- only an AT&T add-a-new-postpaid-cellphone-line offer.

I think that's what they're talking about. I'm going to have to do that too. The thing that stinks about DirecTV Now's deals is that if you use one you can't get the 7 day free trial. I made use of that to determine if it was worth holding onto and now I can't get the $10/month deal or the free AppleTV without resorting to shenanigans like this.

Not sure with DTV Now is any better.
I subscribed for 3 months on their launch and I did not like it. Yes they gave me HBO for $5 bucks but most of the shows were just few episodes from the latest seasons. Same for the regular networks. That was a deal breaker. So I abandoned it.
I would consider coming back if they fixed this and also the dropped the connection that was happening quite often.
You have to download HBO go app sign in with DTV now credentials then you get everything. Also applies to many other streaming apps I think 35 last I looked. There have been several major app updates since launch, it did suck I agree.

Nothing wrong with DTV now except on the stupid Apple 4K remote. Using an earlier remote works well.

Should have been more specific sorry, I meant the original nontouch remote.
Thanks - I thought that was what you meant, and I have one of those laying around I can give a try with.

I contacted DTN Customer Service via Chat and let them know I was interested in the ATV deal and asked if I could get it because I had recently signed up. He said I couldn't, but that he would change the email address, to a made up address, on my prior account and cancel it, which would allow me to use my correct email address on the new account. It was quick and easy. The rep was very friendly and helpful.

Also, as info, Gmail accounts can utilize "+" extensions to change your email address, allowing you to receive emails to that address, but that the email address is different. Perfect for this situation. See https://gmail.googleblog.com/2008/03/2-hidden-ways-to-get-more-from-your.html for more info.

Another handy hint - gmail ignores "." in the name. So fred.flintstone@gmail.com and fredflint.stone@gmail.com and fr.ed.flintstone@gmail.com will all arrive at the fredflintstone@gmail.com mailbox just fine.

I've had Directv now for a year (with $25 credit from AT&T for Unlimited Plus phone plan). I got on the Directv Now customer service chat and asked if I could take advantage of this promotion, and they said sure — I just had to cancel my existing account and start a new one with a different email address. After I got the new account up and running, I couldn't automatically tie it to my AT&T phone number for the discount credit (I guess it was still linked up to the now-cancelled but still-active old Directv login). They fixed that up for me.

I won't get the $25 credit for the next 2 months, but I can already see that they've properly applied it to my June bill. So basically, paid $50 for a new Apple TV 4k.

I'm happy with Directv Now service, and even though the customer support via chat could be a little annoying, they've been very helpful to me.

I just signed up with this service to get the Apple TV. Does it just automatically show up at your doorstep one day, or do I need to do something to make that happen? I've received no shipping indicator or anything, but I signed up 4-5 days ago.

I got it a few days after I ordered. I ordered it on Friday night had it by Wednesday

AWESOME! I didn't think this would be an option as now it's a $15 credit (as of Nov. 17). I would have thought you'd lose the $25 credit and be stuck with the $15 credit.

FYI, if you're not getting a $10 loyalty credit with that Unl. Plus account, I'd call in and ask. I've seen some people say they were told no (with the $25 discount) but I've seen some other say they could get it...
