Question, can I sign up for this and cancel the auto renewal right away? Essentially just paying for the 3 months in advance to get the AppleTV? Sorry.. dumb question I know.

I didn't see where I could choose a cheaper package. I just went through the sign up without adding more. They must have it set at a default $50.00 package, for people like me who didn't do it correctly.
You have to scroll to the left, it is hidden. But even at $150 you still saved $30.

Wow. I may do this to get a nice discount on an Apple TV 4k. I'll most likely cancel after 3 months because I already have Playstation Vue and love it, but why not give DirecTV a try?

I got the 4k free with the 4 month pre paid.my only issue is the remote.

It's the worst remote on the planet and absolutely hate using it to watch tv.

yeah that's exactly what they do. It defaults to the midlevel tier, and you have to manually select the lowest level $35 tier.

Have you already paid? If not try again, and look at the tabs at the top for "Select Plan," then you should be able to get the cheaper one.

I'm not 100% sure on this one, so maybe someone else can confirm, but as far as I understand yeah you should be able to, once you prepay for the three months and get charged.

I have Hulu Live and I like it.
Pros: Stream is great (I'm on 150/150 fiber), channels are great (All local and sports. Hulu Originals are good), Price (while $40, they include everything. So the cost is inline with other services)
Cons: UI is bad (but an update is coming. And search makes up for it).

I hear hulu doesnt stream 1080p?

is that true?

Looks like there's an option to cancel at any time. I'll wait till the device ships and then cancel. The deal was too good to wait. Thanks!

I've had DTV since it started. I'm not a huge fan of the interface, and must say it's less intuitive on ATV than Roku or Amazon Fire for some reason, but for $35 including HBO I really can't complain. It's certainly not unusable in my experience. What the ATV interface really needs IMHO is Siri control. If I could control it by voice and not the annoying ATV remote I'd be in a really good place with it.

Same here. No problems with DTVN. I do have 100mbit internet.

I’ve been wanting to cut the cable cord for a while. Maybe we should start with this. Any of these packages are cheaper than what we pay now, lol. Plus a free Apple 4K TV? Very tempting.

The main thing is that we want to watch TV live just like on cable, especially sports... and Game of Thones. I can bend on everything else. We make regular use of On Demand since we don’t watch TV at the exact start time now. I like to binge watch older TV shows, currently through my Amazon Prime subscription.

I click on the link... and I'm still seeing the 4 month requirement? Where's the 3 month offer?

No, Hulu will do HD if you have at least 10mbps available. It’ll do 4K, but only on the high end game consoles. I think I recently read that an update is coming for ATV and Fire4K

I can't speak for sports, but DTVNow has one of the best HBO add ons at $5 extra/month. So if you do basic package it'll be $40/month total with HBO.

Thanks! Sports has been the only reason we’ve held out on moving away from cable, (yes, kind of silly, my husband wants what he wants!), but it looks like the other packages will have this covered. Still reviewing... have to tally with internet.

Sure:) You can also use your DTVNow log-in for HBO GO and essentially watch everything available on HBO through its own app.

That's all fine and dandy but how would I use an Apple TV in a location where there is no internet? We can only watch Direct TV via satellite.

DirecTV has great service, at least in their support chat. I explained that I'd signed up for the promotion three days ago, paying the full price for four months and that I was therefore missing out on one month of my Unlimited Plus discount. All I was asking for was a credit for the $15 difference, but they credited the full $35! I now get the month of June free, making my AppleTV essentially cost me only $25.

It will show 3 once you select the specific package. So if you select the far left package at 35.00 a month, on the next page it will show Apple TV if prepaid 3 months of service. Select that and on the next page it will show 3 months prepaid with a total of 105.00.

This is a hell of a deal, I was just telling my father about the 4-month deal, trying to talk him into cord-cutting.

Maybe the 3-month deal might finally get him to pull the trigger.

i am curious, since youre technically buying the service not the apple tv, would standard warranty and credit card protections apply?
