Make sure you have the wheel dead centre before you start with the assigning. It should then let you assign negative X to left and positive X for right turns. Our support guys should be able to offer more detailed advice.

Still haven't got it. It appears that my iMac notices that there is a Logitech Momo connected to it, but can't take any input from it. On my MBP on OS X (10.7), it's able to read it and take the signal, but it's hyper sensitive when turning left - turning right is normal. Accelerator and brakes are normal too.
But when I switch over to XP on Bootcamp, it works perfectly after a brief calibration.

So not really sure what my problem is here. I'm confident my Momo is working fine, there just doesn't seem to be the support on my macs, particularly my iMac. Is there any software to check the signal and calibration of steering wheels on macs?

I would contact our support team we have 4 or 5 mono wheels in the office and they all work fine on every Mac in the test lab so I am fairly hopeful we can look at why your momo is not working.

Remember to attach a Support Report with the wheel plugged in this will help us have a look at your setup see if you have anything different that points to the problem.

Are you sure no other USB (gaming-)input is interfering?
I also have a USB Joystick connected to play X-Plane, and I must unplug it to be able to use the MOMO wheel in Dirt 2.

Thanks Edwin. I'll look at sending off a Support Report later on in the week when I get some free time.

Yeah there really shouldn't be any other USB things interfering. No other gaming ones, just a logitech mouse (M100) and the Apple wired keyboard. I suppose it'd be good to try removing the mouse also... but still, on my MBP it behaved badly, and I had no other USB inputs.

Any alternatives to Logitech Momo Racing Wheel?

Sry bout bumping - however, being die hard Colin MacRay gaming fan I have a couple of follow-up questions on this thread which actually seems to be the only reliable online source in regards to Mac compatible force feedback wheels.

1. Does force feedback actually work with the Logitech Momo Racing Wheel using Lion?

2. Are there any Mac Lion compatible alternatives to the Mono wheel?
I have searched for alternatives but there seems to be few to none - not even the 'officially' Mac compatible "Logitech Formula Force GP Wheel" seems to actually work judging from a users specific feedback on Amazon.

3. The Logitech G27 Racing Wheel seems to be a great solution judging from user feedback in general - but will this wheel work well with Lion? Experiences?

4. Which mapping tool is the best for compatibility (if needed)? Are there any wheels working out of the box with force feedback and the whole shebang? Seems from the thread so far the Dirt port developers have made some mapping options within the game itself - or am I way off here?If true - will this work for other wheels?

Alternatively, there seems to be 3 possible mapping solutions acc. to MacUpdate:

A) ControllerMate ($15)
B) GamePad Companion ($7)
C) USB Overdrive ($20) - feedback in the comments seems to suggest the developer has ceased to support the app though?!

Hope to get some useful insight and pointers from you guys in regards to these 4 questions - thanks a lot in advance! :)

I find contacting Feral support would work for a Feral game as well ;) But as I am here...

1. Does force feedback actually work with the Logitech Momo Racing Wheel using Lion?

No Apple removed the FFB next files from the Lion. If you grab them from your Snow Leopard partition and install them FFB should come back. This is not supported however.

2. Are there any Mac Lion compatible alternatives to the Mono wheel?

See above it is the OS that removed all FFB drivers so right no no pads will have ForceFeedback until the drivers are restored.

3. The Logitech G27 Racing Wheel seems to be a great solution judging from user feedback in general - but will this wheel work well with Lion? Experiences?

Yes but due to the lack of Mac drivers the 900 degree support and gearbox are missing. This might change in the future for Feral games if we can work out how to get the wheel to flip into 900 degree mode. :D

For Feral games don't install any "helper" apps. Helper apps will usually break the support for USB devices in the game. The only time helper apps are useful are when the game does not support pads/wheels etc.

Yeah avoid those if you are playing a game by Feral as we spend the time to get the support built in. The applications are great for games with no support, if the game already has support then they can cause problems.

Appreciated Edwin - tnx and keep up the good work! :)

Okay - I don't have a leopard partition or dvd - do you know any way to get these FFB files files from a reliable source with a guide of where to put those?

Okay - that would be awesome. So in other words - support is limited to the Mono wheel (or?!?)

Okay - guess one can purchase other games and limit the mapping to the non-Feral games ;-)

Thanks a lot for clearing up these things Edwin. Would love some feedback for my followups when and if you get the time.

Cheers

Sorry I can't help perhaps you might be able to find some information in this forum ;)

No it will work with the 900 degree wheels like the Logitech G27 it will not support the special features which require driver support.
