NeXT thing to look forward to by our friends over at Feral:

DiRT 3

Any idea what the sys requirements will be?

I wish Dirt 2 was still available for mac. I was too late to the mark.

Totally wild guess - but I'm guessing Dirt 3 may have similar System Requirements to Grid 2.

Wow, just saw the demo. Ugh… now I'm torn between getting this new Dirt 3 game or sticking with my original plan (currently on my To Buy List) Grid 2.

Seems like the drifting would be way more fun on Dirt 3.

I guess, it depends how Dirt 3's system requirements (and game performance) will be.

I'm assuming that is a video demo / trailer rather than a playable demo. I have not seen a playable demo anywhere since Dirt 2 for PC I think. I really wish there was a demo to play!

As for the system requirements, you may be able to get a better idea/guess by looking at system requirements for Grid 2 Mac vs Grid 2 Windows, and then have look at Dirt 3 requirements for Windows.

Both the DiRT as GRiD series are brilliant IMHO:

Both are great mixes between "sim" and "arcade".

I play GRiD 1 & 2 and DiRT 2 on my Mac Pro 2008 / Radeon 7950 with MOMO racing wheel on OS X (FF kext installed), and DiRT 1 running Win 7 on the same Mac.
All these games run perfectly on 1920 x 1200 @ highest settings on Mavericks / Win 7.

Can't wait for DiRT 3!
I just hope that this Mac Pro can handle it maxed-out too.

Yeah, but in many cases, that "video demo" may be based on actual gameplay footage (alpha or beta version). It looked like an in-game clip to me.

Yeah, my iMac will easily meet SysReq for Grid 2.

Quad-core i7, an SSD, and 16GB of RAM. The only "weakness" of my 21" iMac is my nVidia 650M video card at 512MB. I would have gladly paid more money if Apple would have let me custom-order the 1GB video card, but that was not possible for 21" iMac 2012. Therefore, I'm realistic that my iMac could play most OSX games fine, but might struggle on the latest AAA games (some of them even on the PC side are starting to recommend 1GB vidcards as minimum system requirement yikes!)

Dirt 3 Multiplayer

I wonder whether Dirt 3 mac will be on Steam. Currently the windows version is not the "complete edition" and still uses GFWL which makes me think the mac version may not be on Steam... atleast until some time after the release.
I also can't see any mention of it in the Steam DB.

Either way I hope there will be an online multiplayer option.

You'll be OK with Dirt 3 as well. We've tested on 650M hardware (and all other supported models too). The game will default to the optimal resolution and settings for your hardware when you first launch to give you good performance and graphics.

Good to know, Ed! By the way, will this be a Steam-only title, or any chance it will also make it to the Mac App Store?

(and yes, I'm quite realistic that a MAS version will have any online multi-player features limited or disabled)

10.9.5 or better more details will be posted on our site nearer the time.

Dirt 3 is coming out this week - right?
I'm pretty sure I read it said coming later this month.

Looking forward to playing this and hoping there is online multiplayer too.
Thanks

We’ll provide full details on all those these questions on our social media pages on launch day. Gotta go now too many games to get completed ;)

Excellent. Want to create some content on youtube for it but I avoid the MAS when I can, even if I have to wait a few days and miss the initial rush.

Bought it via the MAS and it's running perfectly with max settings on:

• Mac Pro '08 (this Mac got a MOMO Racing force feedback wheel attached full time, FF Kext applied)
• Radeon 7950 Mac Edition (Netkas hack applied so that the grfx card runs full speed)
• OS X Mavericks 10.9.5
• 16 GB RAM
• SSD

• Apple 24" LED Display (1920 x 1200)

Just played a few Single Player races and it's great! Super graphics and fun gameplay. Love the "mix" between SIM and Arcade. Fidling around with the difficulty settings makes the game really enjoyable.
Also much better menus etc. than Dirt 2.

Hi,
Will this work on my macbook air 2013, 1.3ghz, 8gb ram. I want to get it for the monte carlo rally. Thanks

Hey Edwin,

Having a problem with the G27 and Dirt 3. Wheel is pulling hard to the right no matter what. Works great with Dirt 2, Grid 2, Grid, F1 2012, F1 2013. But I have to put the "Wheel Strength" to "0" to get rid of it and that kills the feel of slip.

As far as the game, I am using the "Ultra" preset and the game runs without a hiccup and looks gorgeous. If I can get this game to work as well with the G27 as the other Feral racing titles it will be perfection!
