Noticed it last week, just ran my fingernail around it. Astonishing amount of build up.

Regular cleaning is required as the skin is covered with dead cells, dirt and oil.

No dirt on mine since I rinse it off every night and wipe it down with a towel.

Yup. Lots of old sunscreen in there, among other stuff. I clean it with a wet cloth or with alcohol if it's really filthy.

I get a lot of dirt on mine because I wear it all the time... including doing yard work for several hours in 90+ degree heat. I usually rinse it off in the sink whenever I take it off to take a shower... keeps it pretty clean.

I'm willing to bet that the OP has never owned a watch before. It sounds like the member who lamented that some AW bands are two pieces and you won't be able to use it anymore if you lose one of the pieces.

Or maybe he hadn't considered getting a watch wet, either. I had a coworker who would say, "I'd never get an expensive watch wet," to which I responded, ".... I'd never spend good money on a watch if it couldn't stand up to some water."
