The feature I'd like to see removed is the predictive-typing "feature" where the iPhone tries to predict what the next letter you're going to type is and enlarges the touch area for that letter. For instance, try typing "Chloe". It won't let you type the "e". You have to type "Chlor" and then hit backspace. I find this "feature" completely useless and would like it removed. My last name is one of the words that it won't let you type.

As for auto-correct, I love it and have come to completely rely on it when typing on my iPhone. An on-off switch in settings would be great, though. This seems like a no-brainer and I can't see why Apple hasn't had that from the beginning.

Man, I would *HATE* to type on the iPhone without autocorrect. If the autocorrect didn't work well, I wouldn't have bought the iPhone in the first place.

After jailbreaking and disabling the auto-correct feature I found out that I wish I hadn't.

Is there anyway to edit the auto-correct function, or add words to it?

As in when I type in "lol" it auto corrects to "LOL" and I want to change that.

Hey Guys, The point of this petition is only to enable that we can disable the feature when we don't need it. The point is not to delete the feature!

I realized how great auto correct is the first time I disabled it. I immediately switched it back on.

I did a Google search on the actor Rutger Hauer today.

iPhone didn't like his name so it was auto-corrected to Rutger Bauer.
I guess iPhone is a fan of 24, but hates Blade Runner.

This is just one of thousands of examples, demonstrating why having a tiny besserwisser correcting your text is a f***ed up idea.
