Right and out of the majority we are going to take your word that ear... I mean Airpods have better sound quality than anything Beats.....

Granted I havent tried Airpods 2, but Airpods 1? Sound quality was decent at best

I don’t think you quite get that Beats for years have been known to have poor sound quality. I’m not sure where you think that they’ve ever gotten applauded for sound, because they haven’t. They have been a brand that’s sold off of style, but never audio quality.

If you don’t think it’s possible for AirPods to have better sound quality over any pair of beats you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Have the AirPods 2 and Powerbeats and can wholly say Powerbeats are a step above due to isolation; definitely not as bass heavy as the PB2s so if that’s your preferred sound signature and the tips aren’t sealing, they might not be for you. They effectively have the brightness of AirPods with a touch of boosted lows. Tinny and hollow is for sure not the sound signature I’m experiencing.

So Apple who owns both companies will sell a $250 pair of Beats Airpods because they are Black, have different ear tips and hook to your ears? Yeah great strategy......

How many pairs of beats do you own that you have compared to Airpods?

Uh, yeah that’s exactly what they can do. This is the same company that charges $349 for the studio wireless headphones that are not even close to being in the same league as Bose or Sony in over ear noise cancelling headphones.

Your logic that AirPods can’t sound better than any Beats is just flat out wrong. Again, Beats aren’t know for audio quality. Look it up, and enjoy your reading.

It absolutely is not. Here is a sampling from just this forum.

All these quotes say nothing about the sound quality versus AirPods except one. And that one says volume levels are lower, which I've never heard before (and isn't true). And that's one person. Also I said 'general consensus'. Meaning the majority of people on this forum will tell you that the Pro's sound better.

Look mate, you will be hard pressed to find a professional review that doesn't declare the Pro's sound better than the Airpods.

...Powerbeats Pro.

I have 3 sets of PB3s to compare with AirPods.
Frankly the PB3s are a better buy than the Pros, can be had new for $100 on Amazon.
However some people don’t like the connecting cord.
Personally I’d rather save $150 and not have to use a special charging case, and get 12+ hours out of a single full charge.

You seem to have very negative opinion about Beats so I am not sure why you bought the Powerbeats Pro as part of the preorder? You think a brand that focuses on form over substance and likes to overcharge customers just because they can will suddenly change? You are better off saving your time and money on other brands that you like and trust. Not to mention saving your Powerbeats for someone else who actually wants and would appreciate one.

At the end of the day, everyone is entitled to their own opinion...Because every person has unique ears, and their own personal preference on what sounds good to them. If you don't like them, send them back. Keep them if you do...There is no right or wrong answer here.

Bose and Sony? You almost had me until you mentioned these two.... you should have gone with Sennheiser which I also own, and yes I also own Over Ear Bose, Sony and Beats.

While Beats is not the end all be all, it is above Airpods period.

I got my PowerBeats Pro in yesterday, which I was very excited for because I loved the PowerBeats 2's, but hated the 3's because I thought they sounded terrible. With Apple stating that they focused so much on getting great sound out of the Pro's, I was very optimistic that these would be great.

Unfortunately, the audio on them is just really bad. I'm comparing the audio to the Airpods 1 and 2 (which I own). The audio is no where near the quality that it is on the Airpods. It just sounds hollow, and honestly its not nearly as loud as the AirPods. It honestly sounds exactly like the sound on the PowerBeats 3, which I found tinny and just overall poor.

What's sad about this is how great the feel and fit is of the PowerBeats Pro. The AirPods fit great in my ears as well, but I was just hoping for something with a little more ooomph in the sound, and I also loved the design of the Pro's. The fit and secure feel of them is the best I've ever felt in wireless headphones, but this poor sound quality is just killing them for me.

I'm not getting rid of them yet and will continue testing them, but thus far the audio quality is a major let down for me. I really don't want to return them because they look and feel so great to wear, but I'm just not sure that alone justifies the high price tag when the AirPods sound so much better to me.

I tested out the demo unit(cause I’m still waiting) and they sounded great! Way better than AirPods in my opinion. The pro have a better seal in ur ear as well. Maybe you got a bad batch.

I have Airpods and also had Powerbeats and to me the sound is about the same. I’m not trying to change any narrative other than sound is subjective and to me there isn’t a significant difference in sound. That’s why I returned my Powerbeats Pro after 3 days and over 12 hours of listening.

Bro, we are over here waiting weeks for a pair and you return yours!? Help a bro out.

Because Apple clearly stated that they made sound their priority with these headphones. That is why. Great question though.

Some of you guys are too funny. You act like I’ve insulted your mother or something over being disappointed in a pair of headphones. I literally stated my opinion that I like the SAME company’s pair of headphones over a different pair, at least initially.

It’s my opinion and your ridiculous “fact based” replies are hilarious. No one is insulting your family so take a breath. It’s my opinion and you are allowed to have yours. But stating that because it’s Beats it sounds better than Airpods is nonsense, and that is fact.

So until someone can convince my ears that Beats are just so incredibly more sounding than airpods your opinions mean nothing to me just as mine mean nothing to you.

I'm not sure why some would feed a troll..... if you're happy then fine. I do not think you will change the OP mind.

A troll? I literally just gave my opinion on a product. And because it’s not what everyone wants to hear I’m a troll? That makes great sense.

No offence but you're really not coming across like someone who's not bothered by the opinions people have expressed on this thread.

You realize that quote is in favor of me giving my opinion right?

Bro, I don’t think you should have been come at like that by everyone. Do I think you’re wrong, yes but hey we are all wrong sometimes in our life...lol everybody is different but this is a Apple fan boy site so I’m sure you weren’t expecting a warm welcome... lol

I didn’t think everyone would act like I killed their dog because I said i was disappointed in a product. I realize this is an Apple fan site, but it’s not like i was saying Samsung buds were better than Powerbeats Pro. I said from my initial listens I found Apple’s own AirPods to be better sounding that the Powerbeats.

It essentially comes down to people don’t want to hear that the $250 product isn’t the greatest thing everyone on the planet has ever heard. I love Apple products too, but I don’t mind being critical their products sometimes if I feel it’s warranted. It’s the same in the MacBook Pro forum. You have the same types of people like above telling you there is nothing wrong with the 2018 MacBook Pro keyboard and that it’s perfectly designed. This is the same keyboard that Apple issued an apology over.

None taken (and it’s offense). If people are going to tell me my opinion is wrong then I’m going to comment on it. Just because I comment doesn’t mean I particularly care over what someone has said to me. I’m just responding to them.

A couple of things I've seen floated around as disappointments are low-volume and sound quality, and more specifically sound quality as it compares to AirPods. Acknowledging that everyone has different ears of different shapes and sizes, I'll have to say I disagree on both fronts. Volume is louder on the Beats to my ears, likely based on the noise isolation. The sound quality on the Powerbeats is vastly superior to the AirPods in my opinion as well. I took time to find the right tips for my smaller ear canals and the mediums worked best. The small tips left the sound tinny and lacking in the lows. Now, this is all my opinion and I can recognize where others could have a different experience. I'm still waiting on the second pair I ordered, my wife's, and can't wait for her to test mine out this evening. I think these will be the first truly wireless buds that work for her ear size.

Well, it appears I did get a defective pair which explains the poor sound I was getting. My wife's arrived yesterday and they sound night and day different than mine. I've called Apple and they are sending me a new pair (which won't arrive for several weeks). The sound on my wife's is completely different than it is on mine. Its loud and crisp and the music thumps. Its a completely different experience using hers over mine. Mine are muffled and tinny and they just sound really bad.

My bad on posting the poor review, looks like just a bad pair of them.

AirPods sound like crap in my ears because they’re loose. There won’t be anything worse than it for me. Any beats will be better. If you think your in-ear sounds awful just use a bigger tip.
