Price Increase

I can't say i expected anything else than what we got though.

Apple's tech seems to be (based on their description) the same as Optimus. Blu-ray and USB 3.0 -- did you really expect these from Apple? It's pretty obvious Apple has no interest in putting Blu-ray in their computers, and they certainly wouldn't put it in a laptop before their desktop counterparts. As great as USB 3.0 would be, it seems too early for Apple to put this in their comps considering how stubborn they are with adopting new technologies sometimes. Price increase depends on model: i.e. the higher model 15's got a slight price decrease.

would it be another 8 months til the next refresh or shorter this time? i'm soon entering my first year of college in sept and want to buy a mac, but after hearing the disappointments from people, anyone want to make a guess?

probably.. by then they'll most likely be releasing new cases + hardware. hopefully by then they won't be including a c2d cpu and charging $1k for the system lol

If Acer can fit a Core i5/i7 into an 11.6" Laptop (TimelineX 1820T) why can't Apple put one into a 13.3" laptop like everyone else? :(

I think that this has more to do with Apple not rating the iGP and not being able to slot a discrete one into the 13" (or not wanting to).

Feel free to correct me. :)

No not really dissapointed , I would have loved a 13in better update, but Apple wanted to give ok graphics and you've gotten three hours of battery life and they at least brought it above the WHITE MACBOOK. I believe this wasn't a substantial update, but who honestly expected it to be? Everyone even said its going to be a speed update just processor and graphics. Apple isn't going to make their notebooks better than their desktops so one knows they won't come with 6 gigs of RAM. Sure everyone could ask more.... more.... more...... Is your computer really to slow for what you use. Sure they are expensive as @#$% but its your desicion to buy it. If you don't like the hardware then buy your sony and hackintosh it and deal with the headache. The OS is cut rate and will always better than anything windows puts out. The computer is BEAUTIFUL and has a class that no other computer company will ever achieve. People forget that Apple makes software and hardware and makes the two to work with each other so it WORKS! MAC OSX WORKS! Apple is a minority and you will have to pay out for that.

Everyone can ask more, but do you need more? Sure I'd like more, but these will do what I need them to. I'll be purchasing the base line 15in with higher resolution screen for freshman year in college. :D:D:D:D

Yep I'm disappointed.

I have the late 2008 15.4 MBP, the first unibody to be released. I've already bumpted the RAM up to 4gb myself in the past year.

These updates offer so little improvement over a laptop that is 18 months old it's silly. It would cost over £1,500 to gain an SD card slot, battery life, processor bump and graphics bump, but it really wouldn't do anything that my current MBP couldn't do.

The fact that the price has yet again gone up is really just a little bit of salt in a "wound"... I'll now wait until they have have HD screens as standard and USB 3 ports. By then they'll probably be £2,000 :)
