Isn't it obvious that you have a defective phone? And isn't that possible with anything that you buy? Take it back and get another one, or if you are so put off by Apple, b/c they are not infallible, as we all know, then get a different brand, and see if you're happier.

Until you've exhanged the phone for another iPhone 4 and you STILL have the problem, zip it. MOST iPhone 4 consumers are extremely happy. A minority of the users are having issues. Perhaps you have a lemon, so try and exchange it. If you persistently have problems, you are probably a candidate for an Android phonr.

This. Just return it. You don't sound like someone who needs an iPhone 4.

Awesome! So we all can assume you won't be posting in this forum anymore, right?

Are you kidding me?

I live in the middle of nowhere In Ireland on Vodafone and get 3G at my house.

And the battery is the best yet, it's like it's on Viagra or something.

Why tell them to stop complaining when they have already stated that its being returned? Complaining, up to a point, is a good thing because it warns others and spurs change from Apple on their dreadful design.

I promise that apple isn't sitting around reading complaints on MacRumors and saying oh no we need to make some changes. Come on. There were plenty of threads this kid could have complained on without making a new one. Let's also note that the 3G coverage problem has nothing to do with Apple. His battery sounds defective. Exchange it for a new one, don't restore from backup, or just simply return it. We've read so many whiny complaints over the last 40 days or so that these are just getting old. It's just a phone. If you aren't happy there's a simple solution and nobody will knock you for taking it.

You'll find no sympathy here, exchange it and see if your experience is better or return and get something else. Both solutions have nothing to do with posting a topic on MacRumors.

Hi there.

I just wanted to say if anyone from Apple is out there, how disappointed I am with the iPhone 4.

The 3G coverage I get is abysmal. I get virtually no 3G connectivity at all, and I live in an area where it's supposed to be excellent. I said to my network provider (Vodafone) I may switch to another provider to get better 3G coverage, and they said they are aware this is a problem, it's not a Vodafone problem, but its an iPhone 4 problem. They said I'll find the same problem with other carriers on this phone if I chose to switch.

Battery life is so bad that it's barely comprehensible how a company the size of Apple could get it so wrong. 100% down to 5% with about 2 hours use (really). I know this sounds crazy, but it is true. I have fudged around with settings and it makes little difference. I shouldn't have to mess around with settings - this is a very expensive phone.

And Antennagate - I can (again really) go from 5 bars to disconnection in a regular and repeatable manner when I hold the hold the phone incorrectly. I just want to say that last bit again as it says allot about his phone in general - 'hold the hold the phone incorrectly'. It's crazy if you think about it.

Everything I have said is completely true and accurate, and could prove it should I wish.

I am sending the phone back as soon I've finished typing this message. I'm glad I got the phone contract over the Web, as it gives me this option.

All in all it has been a very negative experience, and is the total antithesis of everything I would expect from Apple.

Apple, you have got this product very wrong, and people can see it - they really can see it.

Good for you, more people should vote with their pocketbook. Make them get it right.

Apple, you have got this product very wrong, and people can see it - they really can see it.

And that is exactly why millions of those people keep buying and buying it...
OMG, are we being masochists trying to get our hands on this "very wrong product" ASAP?!:D

Obvious troll. He created his account on MR just to post this garbage. Look at his username.

Hello, Apple is not for everyone. I am happy to see you return the iPhone. The last thing anyone wants is for people using iPhone just because it's the "cool" device to have, or it is flashy, or anything like that. So if you don't like it, it is your duty to not live with it and return it. You are happier. We are happier. I am happier. I am glad you are disappointed with Apple. I don't want Apple to get too big. You know what they say - if you try to please everyone you end up pleasing no one. In fact, I am seeing more and more iPhone and I am not happy. I don't believe all of those people buying iPhone because they really like it - I think they just think it is the "in" thing to do. And that is not healthy, and make me feel like when people see me with my iPhone I'm some kind of elitist instead of someone who really appreciate what the device does for me.

So again a big THANK YOU for returning your iPhone. :D

I'm satisfied with Apple. The fact is, times change & things change. Once I got into acceptance about the new lower quality standard at Apple... No problem. I just decided to endure the time & hassle of returning the defective phones they were sending till I got a good one. Phone replacement number four was it. I've had it four days now and it's still working.

Dear OP...

Can we convince you to reconsider your opinions?

Can we kindly go over the facts and just try to re-evaluate?

I would love for you to love this phone.

Consider this: is the device shiny? Does it feel good and crisp in your hands? Do you want to look at it? Do you take those design elements for granted?

What about the fact that your voicemail list is right there? And the fact that you can pinch browse real websites with unparraled fluidity?

Look at the simple things! Go back to basics. What do you really actually need? like really NEED? nothing really.

but this phone is a delight. Truly, will you try to see the light?
