If you're using a Mac, especially on battery, Safari is the way to go.

I hadn't touched it in a while because I use Chrome, but Safari is pretty awesome now and I like it better. Safari is faster than Chrome on the Mac.

On Windows I still use Chrome.

In terms of battery life, Firefox seems to be as good as Safari, I use both browsers regularly and I'm consistently getting 10+ hours battery life with my MacBook Air.

This is with Flash and other pointless stuff disabled though.

Chrome, as well as Flash, really kills the battery life.

Chrome Canary seems to be faster than Safari..

Have you given the Epic Privacy Browser a try?

It uses the Chrome "engine", but all the google stuff is "stripped out" of it, and it also offers the ability to "cloak" your IP address...
