If, as you say, “The iPhone 14 isn't the flagship. It's the midrange phone”, then it intentionally has a deceptive name. A more honest name would’ve been iPhone 13C. (2013’s iPhone 5C had a different design to 2012’s iPhone 5, but had the same A6 CPU. So the name iPhone 5C was not deceptive.)
Man… there are SO many things in the world to be angry about than this …. And similarly, there are way worse people out there to be mad at / mad about than the CEO of Apple… sheesh

I totally agree, and that's why I've never been angry nor mad about it, but rather just disappointed.

Oh good, well I don’t necessarily disagree things get more expensive and less of a drastic improvement in the CPU, and I see where you’re coming from that it’s unprecedented in some ways. However in other ways I see it more as an ongoing process especially if they’re going to keep having new phone models yearly, that some years will inevitably less noticeably different than others. And for sure I wish the phones were less expensive but that’s why I’ve stuck with the SE model for the past couple years.

The iPhone 6s stopped and iOS 15 because it had 2 gigs of ram as opposed to just 1 gig on the 6. While the A9 was much faster than the A8 (something that’s not the case between the A15 and A16), it wasn’t the main benefit. To that end, the iPhone 14 has 6 gigs of ram instead of 4.
