OK, 1st thread so go easy on me (this thread is about iPhone - specifically in the UK).
Keynote '08 was good. The movie rental feature will be big. Already DVD rental through the post was dying out and the ability to do rent in HD is a big deal for people that want to do that too. The Apple TV update looks great too!
MacBookAir - for people that want that, great. Myself, I'd sooner have a far cheaper MacBook that does the same job, but I understand that there's a market for light, slim notebooks and Apple want some of that market too.
iPhone - Right, this is the big one. A lot of people were expecting something. Even it was just a 16gb version to slot in the $599 gap. However, the update they've provided looks great.
Realistically, a new iPhone was never going to be released yesterday. I thought that in a similar way to last year, a 2nd gen might be unveiled though. Nonetheless, the big Q now is when. Summer might be a possibility, but like some of you have said, 3G in the USA is only in the big cities and EDGE is perhaps not that much worse. In the UK however, 3G would make a massive difference. That's not to mention GPS. The new way to use Google maps is great - looks very neat, but would be useless in the UK. Hence, surely the obvious date for the 2nd gen iPhone (featuring GPS) would be the annual British MacExpo in London. This happens in November I think.
Comments welcome.
