Does anyone know of an OS X equivalent of the daemon tools Virtual CD/DVD-ROM emulator? I know there is a utility in disk utilities that creates a disk image but to my knowledge that only works if the CD is actually in the drive.

You can use Disk Utility to create both fixed size empty disk images or "sparse" images, which will size to content (it will grow as required, up to a preset max).

DVD Disc Drive Emulator?

I have backed up my games to a harddrive, creating fixed size disc images for each disc. I did this so I wouldn't have to worry about a scratched or lost disc…

But now I went to install from one of these disc images , with no luck. Do I have to burn all these disc images back to disk before installing? Or is there a virtual DvD disc emulator software for the mac? :apple:
