    Hi.

I have a strange problem, where an external USB 3 2.5" Seagate HDD with 2 TB storage keeps ejecting itself and then mounts itself a short time later.
Sometimes the volume is also not mounting, but recognized in Disk Utility, but I cannot mount it with Disk Utility.

Once the disk was partitioned with a 1.5 TB volume (first partition) and 500 GB volume (second partition), but since then I have deleted the 500 GB volume and expanded the 1.5 TB volume to 2 TB.
The 1.5 TB volume was called "1.5 TB Daten", the 2 TB volume is now called "Daten mobil 2 TB".
The volume is also encrypted, since its 1.5 TB days, with FileVault.

Now Console gives me infos like this:

    Code:

I thought about cloning the volume to another disk I have lying around, then formatting the troublesome disk, and then cloning all the data back. Since is only 1 TB of data, it will not take more than a night and such, but maybe I can circumvent that with something clever I haven't thought of yet.

Anyone having read this with an idea how to solve this great mystery of this second? ;)

    Thanks.

Sorry for the lack of emoticons, I only know two or three, and those are mostly used on message boards for throat singing.

I tried several cables, it is not my only USB 3 2.5" HDD.

I just cloned and reformatted and cloned that thing, since then it has been behaving like it should.
