And you know what else is unfortunate, what you stated it is not fact in bold. That's an opinion. So you can't pass something as concrete evidence based off an anecdotal opinion over your dismay for this Company, contrary to what you believe.

Oh did i upset you? Im sorry. I dont have to bold ****!

Poor quality control at Apple, plain and simple.
yes, in the past you didn't expect this from apple, i'm not saying that they "apple" where perfect either back then but at least it wasn't a big screw up of this magnitud, but now under Timmy you can expect this kind of thing, Tim this is completely unacceptable, can't wait for you to leave, you are making money for the company but you are destroying quality control and costumer satisfaction, nice job
[doublepost=1508011298][/doublepost]every time apple or Microsoft make this kind dangerous mistakes, it just a bug, who know what they where trying to do and they got caught, you can really trust none of this companies anymore, they are under extreme pressure from government agencies, while in the media they will say no we will never do something like that maybe they will cooperate behind the screens. in the past people only worried about hackers , viruses and exploits, now you also have to worry about your OS provider. not looking good, maybe i go back to play dos games from a floppy disk and i don't even need a HD, SSD, M.2 or OS installed to play some old classics whit out feeling paranoid about my personal info, this exactly why i don't connect W10 to the internet or have or use any social media account.

I would say relying on the user community to beta test software is a problem; there's no accountability. A paid QA department can be hung out to dry for missing bugs such as these.

Precisely why I didn't say relying. Yes, paid QA is important, but the general public is a much larger field to play in, so to speak. Opens things up for more people to find issues from different angles. The both/and is important.

Actually, this bug is one that should have been caught by Apple. But I agree that beta testing by end users is great. But Apple needs to have a more close to finished product before you can have effective beta testing. For iOS 11 and High Sierra too much was being changed or fixed late in the development cycle. Ideally you’d have a very close to finished product that is good enough for people to use on the devices they need and use daily. You’d let them test that for several weeks or a month.

I agree. I've found several issues that seem like really basic things that they would have caught well ahead of the release. Had me scratching my head.

Wait, what? Everyone who sets a hint on an AFPS volume created in Disk Utility is screwed. Most people use DU. IDK if the macOS installer uses it when you convert your HFS volume to AFPS; does it? If so, that's even worse.

It's a lot harder when most of the src isn't available. Can't rely on users to find these things, especially when they're critical to security.

Which is why I said helping rather than relying. =D
