Social issues and politics have become intertwined, I’m just saying they should not be involved in decisive issues. Left or right.
Yeah that pesky 1st amendment in the states. Being divisive in reaction to another’s beliefs and opinion is a choice and says more about those making that choice.

All I need is YouTube Premium and I'm good. The cost on it has stayed the same for me for 5 years or so.
I agree, Disney+, Apple Music, Netflix, are included in my Verizon cell plan. if they get dropped I’m fine with YT premium and YT music. I hope the implosion trend like AT&T, HBO Max and discovery isn’t the new business model.

The 4 million net subscriber loss doesn't have anything to do with the quality of their shows.
Maybe not, but ‘during the Q2 FY23 Earnings Results webcast, Iger stated, “As we grow the business in terms of the global footprint, we realized that we made a lot of content that is not necessarily driving sub growth and we’re getting much more surgical about what it is we make.” “So as we look to reduce content spend, we’re looking to reduce it in a way that should not have any impact at all on subs,” he asserted. “We believe there is an opportunity for us to focus more on real sub drivers.” Iger went on to reveal that many of the pieces of content they created were negatively impacting the company’s bottom line due to their marketing costs outweighing the subscription revenue. [...] Iger then went on to admit there was a number of pieces of programming that were not driving any subscriptions whatsoever.’ [This is from here.]

So Disney themselves acknowledge that much of their new content is not attractive enough to drive subscriptions.

Looks like Disney's following Warner Bros. Discovery's practice with merging HBO Max and Discovery+ into one app, while offering one of them in its' original format for those already subscribing.
My brother will be pleased about this, being able to watch "King of the Hill" and the older "Family Guy" seasons on Disney+.

You can see from this Dec 2020 verge article that Hulu represents a obstruction to Disney plans and predates anything related to the mess that AT&T/Discover/WB Max created with consolidation of multiple services into Max. So everyone has been expecting HuLu to go away for years.

Absent from Chapek’s announcement were details about what is happening with Hulu. Prior to Chapek announcing Star in August, the plan was to bring Hulu to international markets. That was the case up until February 2020 under former CEO Bob Iger. If Hulu remains a domestic-only streaming service, it can only amass so many subscribers.

Chapek pointed out in August that “Hulu has no brand awareness outside of the US.” But is Hulu still a priority for Disney? The company is facing a multibillion-dollar payout to Comcast in 2024 and, while Disney is seeing “very, very strong demand for advertising on Hulu,” according to chief financial officer Christine McCarthy, Hulu’s place in the overall Disney streaming empire is a bit of a conundrum.
