Well, that's unexpected. My sister, being a huge Disney fan, had been planning to collect DI stuff, and not too long ago bought a discounted DI 3.0 Star Wars starter pack and a PS3 to boot. I really expected Disney to milk the hell out of it, but I guess it didn't do well. I really didn't expect that, as I thought this stuff sold like hot cakes to kids and Disney collectors. And I guess I'll have to break the bad news to her tomorrow as well...

We have Dimensions and Infinity and for a seven year old Dimensions has turned out to be much more fun. A real missed opportunity though given the recognisable characters and wealth of source material that could have been drawn upon.

I've been buying the figurines as a 'keepsake', and have no clue what the damn things are used for.

The Sorcerers Apprentice, Groot, etc are AWESOME!!!

I don't believe so. Skylanders and Lego Dimensions are both still selling well.

Disney pulled an Apple pre-OS X, and apparently made the third gen (What?) if this product incompatible with earlier versions. Talk about killing yourself with stupidity...

They are dead? Self inflicted...

The problem was that it just wasn't as much fun as Skylanders. The Skylanders stories were more fun, came out first, and had a ton more variety.

I really hated that most of the focus went into the "minecraft world building" side of it rather than the story/quest lines.
In 2.0 the stories were very short. They also had too many limitations on characters being tied to their play sets and quests. That was surprising and disappointing. 3.0 was better but they really limited infinity too much.

The figures are great though. Having many boys I have way too many of them. I hope the 4 player sets goes on sale and we will buy that and Black Panther and be done.

I could not disagree more. We have both Skylanders and Disney Infinity and in my opinion Disney Infinity was far superior. Each Skylanders release is basically the same game over and over again - it' just bash the other enemy and level up. It got really boring after awhile (we do own all the Skylanders releases though).

Disney Infinity had a lot more flexibility as you were not locked into a linear story line. You could explore and do whatever you want, and the missions were more challenging.

It's sad that DI is going away as you could relate to the DI characters more as you have seen them in movies or grew up with them.

Disney goes through lots of failures now a days...

?

What are you talking about?

The latest Captain America just set some record or other, has great reviews. Lots of people are excited for Finding Dory. Frozen and Inside Out both did really well last year.

Other than this and The Good Dinosaur, I can't think of many failures Disney has had recently.

Captain America was great because of Marvel is amazing at their movies and disney happen to ride along.

Disney Flops:
  1. John Carter
  2. Lone Ranger
  3. Sorcerer's apprentice
  4. Tomorrow Land...

Steve Jobs' Disney would have never allowed this,

Also- Kylo Ren-gate on DI 3.0:
(Potential spoilers for future plots) http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/disney-inf...bout-kylo-ren-star-wars-force-awakens-1534831
I thought the biggest question was - why is this movie so stupid and such a direct but souless copy of the original. But apparently it's something else.

Lone Ranger flopped but was good.

Disney is being stupid.

Disney Infinity has massive untapped potential; the only problem has been that Disney Infinity has had horrible management. I have no idea why John Vignocchi was ever put in charge, but he should have been cancelled instead.

Is it just me? It looks just like the Amiibo, or whatever Nintendo is selling...

It's just you. The Amiibo essentially do nothing in games. They unlock costumes and such, while the Disney Infinity sets have actual gameplay, and you use the figures in-game.

JJ Abrams of course,

I like some of his stuff, but one of the bigger Hollywood hacks imo.

Upon re-watch I didn't mind The Force Awakens as much, but also coincided with not caring since I already knew I was in for disappoint. Was so sad watching it in theaters,

I wonder, if someone tries to recover from iCloud backup, would this app being restored after then, since iOS 9 refuses to restore your app from iTunes library at all.
And: even though everyone loves a product, when it goes away, it just goes away.

Didn't play the games, but have a few of the Star Wars figures (Boba Fett, Vader, Kylo and Maul) because I thought they were cool on a shelf with my Revoltech and Bandai figures. Will keep an eye out to add others at a reduced price :)
