It's either software bug or hardware bug present in 100% of iPhone 12 Pros around me.

To reproduce the bug/hardware defect
-You must be in DARK room or you will not see it.
-Adjust brightness to 40~50%
-Play this YouTube video or any other video that plays PURE BLACK image.
Example:

-OLED should display pure black....but when playing black video like above, it will flash greenish HUE....

Example of the problem:

See if you have the defective iPhone 12 Pro like I do..

I wasn't going around "diving deep to find problems." Lol no worries I have better things to do than that.
I watch YouTube Videos in bed with all lights off and noticed this issue.

Are you saying my usage scenario is "weird?"
Lol...now I get told on how I get to use my own device at home...ridiculous

I don't think I commented in regards to how to use your device, check what I wrote again. :)
You should re-read your comment. You said it boggles YOUR mind how people dive deep "to find problems"
Like I said, I wasn't looking for problems. I was simply watching video on Youtube in my bedroom and noticed it. Hardly looking to "find problems." It's just a normal usage.

It’s definitely a problem. It’s not green. It’s black. OLED screens are supposed to be pure black when displaying black content. However, the new iPhone 12 Pro suffers from a display problem (raised blacks) at certain brightness levels. I checked 5 different iPhones 12 Pros (1 in the USA, 4 in Germany) and all phones show this problem. This is not normal and should not be tolerated. Super annoying watching the mandalorian on Disney+ in a dark room in bed, as the black sometimes even turns on and off (at about 20% - 30% brightness).

I’m returning the iPhone 12 Pro and hope that the 12 Pro Max does not have this problem.

If you are in a dark room why the hell is your screen so bright?
Are you trying to blind yourself? Even outside in bright sunshine I never see my brightness as high as 50%
This happens at 20% brightness too (see picture for brightness). It’s super annoying. Sometimes the black even flickers on and off.

It's just how camera recording is showing on the screen because it's in dark environment. Doesn't mean screen is set at bright level.

Like I said, this happens in low brightness anywhere from 0-70% brightness.

How do we know this isn’t a feature designed to prevent smearing?
It could be, but that totally destroys the purpose of an OLED? It's meant to be completely black in dark scenes. This makes it look like a LCD screen.
But since this wasn't a problem with previous iPhones with OLEDs I'm guessing it's a bug or hardware fail.

I hope it’s a feature not a bug. I had to replace my 12 pro the day after release day as uniformity of colours was appalling. I’d hate to think apple’s qc is compromised like this.
Apple needs to make a statement before their image starts suffering.

It’s probably not a quality control issue if basically all phones have it.

I just got off the phone with Apple support. This is currently my second 12 pro, the first one was returned due to a significant yellow tint but there was not the raised black issue and everything else worked great. The replacement is better with the respect to tint just a warmer profile which was acceptable to me. However the raised blacks and apparent earpiece/speaker issues are unacceptable. Both units were through T-Mobile week 40 production. At this point they didn’t want to initiate another return and gave me a referral. Apple support call went well.. simply explained the situation at hand, outlined 3 Apple community discussions, and diagnostics were ran. During the call the earpiece problem was blatant and the phone actually freezed up so had to reboot to get reconnected. Express replacement was offered with the $29 fee and after some back n forth got a senior advisor on the call who waived in order to process. Hopefully 3rd times the charm lol.

Return the phone...go to a different brand.
Thanks for the advice. As I mentioned T-Mobile would not initiate another return which is flat out wrong and I’m going to deal with. I’ve used plenty of Android devices in the past and they are not for me. If this next 12 pro is in the same boat not sure how to move forward. Would settle for a previous year model.

Every phone I have here that is OLED (pixel 1, pixel 3, and Nord) are all perfectly black in this situation. I'll try my mini when I get it.

Okay I just checked my 12 against my 11 Pro just for the heck of it before I send my 12 back for reasons having nothing to do with this issue. The 11 Pro is perfect black. The 12 shows lights like yours. So, how does that impact your videos? I generally don’t watch movies or videos in too much darkness. So I haven’t seen anything in the videos yet. I did used to get annoyed by black crush or smearing because that really almost renders the display, useless even in rooms with a decent amount of light in the evening. Is this issue as bad as that?
