proud
/proud/
adjective
1.
feeling deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of one's own achievements, qualities, or possessions or those of someone with whom one is closely associated.

It’s safe to assume he means he feels deep pleasure or satisfaction as a result of ones own possession... being the 12PM.

Cringe away my friend, but you’re cringing about the wrong thing ;)

Perhaps MrGimper is commenting on the shallowness of feeling pride in something one owns, the obtaining of which required very little effort and only spending money to obtain, versus an accomplishment requiring much more effort and skill.

Perhaps dannyyankou is proud because he may not be blessed with a financial situation to which purchasing an iPhone isn’t something he can do every year. Perhaps he has other things in his life that come first and he was finally able to save up and/or afford a gift to himself, in which case would lend credence to his pride in a material product as a result of his hard work and dedication to his ability to earn the product. Maybe not, who knows. Knocking people for being prideful in something they worked for or enjoy is what’s truly shallow.

A DisplayMate review is completely irrelevant. Apple pays DisplayMate for a glowing review. I know this for a fact considering I worked at Google and we paid DisplayMate for a positive review on Pixel.
Anyone can make up stories on the internet. Prove that Google paid for a good review. Oh right, you can't! LOL
