Of all the things to be concerned about at MR, the source of advertising must rank near the bottom. Arn needs a new pair of shoes... ;)

By shoes you mean servers.

And if the ads on the site are any indication, those servers will be running Windows :) .

Seriously though, I can't seem to find any of the Windows ads the OP was talking about, nor do I remember seeing them, which is just fine by me.

It is impossible to NOT see any MS ad's anywhere.
They spend a ****load of money on advertising.

Best $25 I ever spent was contributing..

well I did spend $25 once on something better but hey! :D

Who are they?

dirty is here. violated must have been too offended to even sign up.

As for the advertising revenue, I fail to see a big deal - Microsoft and Mac are linked, whether it's through Office or running Windows on Boot Camp. Or, as KT said, one uses both Windows and OS X.

So theres Windows ads? If thats all you have to worry about I want your life...

When I goto a train station there are ads for everything, phones, iPods, tissues, mags, coke. Are you saying there should only be ads about trains?

When I walk down the street, I see ads for gigs, cars, food... Not just street lighting and tarmac services...

No, he's making an observation from the viewpoint of Microsoft and Apple strictly being competitors. You won't see ads for Toyota cars at a Ford dealership.

But the relationship between Microsoft and Apple is much more intertwined than that of mere competitors (especially now that Macs run Windows). And even so, if you consider that Microsoft's money may not be very well spent by advertising here, it becomes a good thing.
