Difficult to consider LTT as a medium when they inject sponsors left & right.


Dave2D is much preferred to me as well. I also recommend MobileTechReviews.

I haven’t watched many of Dave’s videos. I enjoy Lisa’s reviews. I like Louis, too, but I rarely watch his content.

Doesn’t Dave2D have sponsors? They’re all essentially sponsored if ads play with their videos.

LTT’s sponsors are usually a great fit for his audience (and his sponsored messages are perfectly placed and done better than most YouTubers..very quick and effective) but they often have nothing to do with the actual content of the video, so I don’t think it’s compromising him. Compared to Rossmann, Linus is a happy medium for me because he’s also very critical of Apple and much more of a Windows guy, but then you get videos like this.. so I find his perspective to be more balanced.

I don't consider myself as wearing rosy Apple goggles, but say what you will. What I do know is that Rossman hates Apple and dedicates a serious amount of time badmouthing them, T2 chip discussion aside.

I don’t disagree, but I think you have to be able to separate a little from what is fact to what is just plain sour grapes. He can’t repair the newer machines so he just constantly bad mouths Apple. I don’t think he does what he does for the “common good.” He does what he does because it gets him clicks and he has a built in audience around Apple haters. His channel is just a big mosh of trashing Apple and he knows he’s going to get people to click his channel the more he hates on them.

And yes, with FlexGate and all you mentioned I agree, but Apple has stepped up and offered fixes for those problems.

Rossmann hates Apple so he repairs Apple products. That sure makes sense...
3rd party technicians like him try to keep us consumers informed and Apple in check.

My 2011 MBP is on its 4th logic board for GPU failure and also body replacement due to warp from swollen battery. This was from 2014-2017. I can guarantee you that touchbar MBP owners now will be paying more for the same amount of repairs or straight off rejected for repairs within warranty, let alone outside the warranty and force to buy new MBP. Bless anyone that ever had to buy multiple new MBP.

Macs are known for better longevity vs Windows, right? Who's going to repair your T2 Mac when Apple label it as vintage but it happens to need a repair in the far future? You can throw a million dollars to Apple but they still won't fix it nor can any other technician. As a 2011 MBP owner, I still have the choice to have any competent tech to repair it even when vintage, not for you T2 owners. You starting to see the problem now?

Louis if fighting for our right to repair. Our planet is going down the drain and apple does everything to produce more and more of electronic, non repairable waste and thus waste of important resources. It‘s sad that Louis is one of very few that REALLY stand up against such disgraceful business practices even if he has to fight before court with his own money. And those who talk him down crying babytears just because they fear their precious sparkling bubble is about to burst should really have a second look at their priorities in life.
