I'm not sure what things the OP refers to that are 'lacking,' but I'm loving my iPhone 3G. I get crystal clear reception for phone calls, which I didn't get with my old phone. No hiccups...I love it.

Awe as in when your battery dies 3 hours into the day when you have only talked on the phone for 20 mins?

I got over 5 1/2 hours on the first full charge for my phone, and I spend much of that streaming music and playing games. Not sure if those drain the battery much or not, but I'm fine with the battery life.

anyone "remorsing" beyond reason you might feel better if you donate your phone to one of us unfortunates without one yet.

just thought i'd throw that out there :D

we will be happy to take the battery suckers off your hand for say, a nice reliable razr. lol

That's good that all of you still love it.

However, do you love it because it has zero problems and is a great device or do you love it despite the problems that you have encountered (such as sluggish apps, crashing, etc.)

:apple:

I think that is more of a 2.0 problem than a 3G problem. Even the orignal iPhone battery is leaving something to be desired with the 2.0 upgrade. I should know more after I pick up my iPhone this afternoon.

I forgot to answer this. I love it because I've had zero problems and it's a great device.

None at all! Sometimes I wish I would have got black, but then i look at the white and remember why I chose it.

The only thing that gives me that buyer's remorse feeling is because I told myself that I would never sign another 3 year contract with a cell phone company. Oh well :(

Not at all. No problems.

Everyone complains about the battery. I don't see why. ANY smartphone battery is not going to last as long as your regular phone battery. My Q got 3/4 of a day (if I didn't use the internet). My BB Pearl got about a day (using some internet).

My iPhone lasts over a day and that is with internet, video, games, and music.

The crappiest battery life was from my original Razr. Crap, that thing only had to do calls and I barely got a day out of it.

Not at all. In fact this is one product that for me actually surpasses the hype I had for it. The more I play with it on the go, at work etc, and learn what it is capable of, the more I love it.

Obviously the iPhone is lacking some things and certain conectivity that the original iPhone had. However, do you regret buying the iPhone 3G? All of the things wrong now like the buggy software, sluggish apps, crashing, underwhelming 3G can all be fixed in good time I believe. How do you all feel about your latest purchase or soon to be purchase.

If u buy the iphone 3g and dont like it, u have 30 days in the US(14 days in the UK) to return it and get your money back. Theres no remorse about it. Either take it back if u dont like the features/non features or shut up about it. Doesnt do anything to whine about it.

Had the Samsung Instinct for a week. Hated it. Returned it. Bought iPhone. Much happiness now.
Seriously, it's not perfect but close enough for me. There are a lot of picky bastards out there with wicked high expectations.

I agree with scuba, I mean ppl whine that the iphone doesnt have this or that. Someone said the LG dare is 100times better or something. Have u actually played with an LG dare? yeh the cam is 5 MP but the interface sucks, the look sucks, its just an apple imitator. Does LG dare have anything better than the iphone besides the camera? DOubt it.

I had to sell (bacause of the really annoying run time of the battery) my phone and my contract because in my country you don't have the right to bring something back if you buy in a store. If the store owner (or the company) take it back, then it's fine but they are not forced to. That was my failure, because if i had bought it online, i can send it back within 7 days. I was one of the first getting the new iPhone and well, maybe i buy me a new one if Apple is able to improve the battery ...

I love my new iPhone - it's a nice step up from my 1st Gen. I'm intrigued by your comments thought - exactly what is the 3G lacking that the orginal had?

No remorse at all. I love my phone. It is heads and tails better than my old phone. Just wish Apple would come out with an SDK for windows. I'd like to write an app, but I'm not about to buy a mac just so I can do that.

No, I have no buyer's remorse since I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting into. A couple unpleasant surprises:

1. Apps crash more often than I'd like on a phone. I've had to reboot a few times, which is a drag when you're expecting a phone call. Also, the reboot takes a LONG time. Hopefully the crashing problem will become less over time as Apple and developers refines their software.

2. It's too much of a fingerprint magnet, not only on the plastic backing but all over the glass front. I'd heard other people complain about this but I didn't realize how much of a problem this was until I've actually used it for a few days. Apple needs to develop some new materials if touch screens really are the future.

3. The battery life blows (your mileage may vary). It's not as big of a problem during the week day since I keep a charger at work, but on weekends, you could really be screwed if you're out and about making calls and surfing the web. There is A LOT of room for improvement here.

It's by no means a perfect phone but it's still a pretty amazing gadget. And the 3rd party apps are truly addictive. The biggest time-waster ever invented.

this is a fantastic deal despite any flaws.

This thing is going to be as big as the ipod, mainly because they have managed to get the initial entrance fee so low.

The first day I've owned it it has saved my butt while driving. Mind you, I already owned the first version so i'm jaded and am not wowed by this at all.

great tool.

Remose is kind of a strong word... so no, I don't have buyer's remorse, but I can't say I'm really happy with the iPhone 3G. I've been having major reception and connectivity issues that I feel are ridiculous.

If Apple / AT&T don't improve the situation prior to my 30 day grace period expiring, I will definitely be returning it. It's a great gadget with the best features on the market, but first and foremost, I need it to be a reliable communication device, and I just haven't found it to be that with all the dropped calls and "No Service".

If I return it, I'll be going back to my T-Mobile Dash. I'd be glad to give the iPhone a shot again in the future, but once again, I need a phone that "just works".

Hmm, I've been hearing some strange things about Chicago reception. My G1 didn't have any issues there (downtown ,and all around Chicagoland). I'm not there now so I can't say about the new one.

no remorse, but unfortunately my reception is crappier than my old phone that i got for free from at&t.

I'm thrilled with the device as a sum of its parts. The "phone" reception and loudness could be better. My old razr sounded better than most landlines. But all the features more than make up for it! I can't wait to take it on vacation!

My BB Pearl got about a day (using some internet).

Are you serious? Must have been an old battery, or something wrong with it. BB phones have good battery life and the Pearl doesn't have 3G, which is the battery killer.

I have a 2G iPhone at the moment and will get the 3G upgrade for 2 reasons only: O2 iPhone 3G plan is the same price as the 2G and that I have only had my 2G for a few months, which I will give to my boyfriend.

If I need long battery life for a particular day, I'll turn off 3G, Mobileme push, and Bluetooth, all of which suck the battery. Just waiting for O2 stock for current iPhone customers. Thanks O2

When I the iPhone 3G lacks some connectivity that the original iPhone has I based that off of posts where people said that the new iPhone wouldn't charge on their computers or work in their cars.

And my original post wasn't meant to say the iPhone 3G is a poor product. I have been trying to get one since launch and would love to own one, I just was curious as to what you guys were generally feeling about it.

:apple:

I do not have buyer's remorse over the iPhone. It's only $300. Now, having paid $50,000+ for an Audi S4 with a 4.2L V8...I have buyer's remorse every time I pull up to the pump, which is pretty damn often.

Point is, don't sweat the small stuff!

:D
