Do Apple exchange leather case if it's worn?

I have an iPhone 6 and an Apple leather red case bought online (UK) in Sep 14.

It's become worn and dirty, and I don't like the look tbh. What are Apple like for an exchange if I say it's dirty/worn? I'll just do the online chat support thing, where I think they would send a new one, his a charge, and then I return old one?

Anyone done this, or is it "not allowed" as it's not faulty as such just worn and dirty?

Your seriously going to ask Apple to replace a almost 1 year old case? Seriously? Cases get worn with daily use..

Also OP, they are under no obligation to swap it tbh. The box says something along the lines of the leather showing some wear and discolouration over time.
 
I am "seriously" thinking yes I am.

I understand cases get worn but this to me has discoloured.

I understand they may not be under any obligation, was wondering if anyone else had though.

I have heard of certain scenarios where customers do get their Leather cases swapped. I guess it all depends on the agent assisting you that day.
 
Thanks for comments. I haven't tried cleaning it no. Was more afraid it would make it worse. As its a leather was unsure?
 
You have the case since September so 8 months isn't bad to have a leather case, dam I don't even keep my phones that long.

With leather you need to clean it every couple of weeks with a leather cleaner/preserver and I wouldn't recommend using a wet wipe to clean it as it will dry out the oils in the leather.

By the way the reason most people like leather is because it changes over time. The back of my Moto X looks better now than it did when I got it in February.

Knew it would change but, again everyone to their own agree, mine is worn. On the corners, around the front edge is black, it's a red case. I haven't cleaned it ever don't think, maybe a wipe now and then...

Got support, told me to clean it with water only on wringed out cloth. Hasn't worked. He's phoning back later, will probably do a swap says, hold on credit card, send old back. I'd be fine with that

I originally had a midnight blue case for my 6. Got it when I first got the phone. Within the 1st few weeks, the case looked all beat up and worn. And I do baby my gadgets. I was in my local Apple store and started talking to one of the employees there. They agreed, it should hold up better and offered to replace it on the spot at no charge. I highly doubt Apple will replace your 1 year old case without taking your money in return!
 
It's not a year old, bought in Sep 14, don't mind them holding a charge on card until I send back either

Support agreed, had to send the photos to "engineering" dept first, then end of week will send me a new one, confirming later in week...

This case is made from natural aniline leather. Its appearance will change as you use it.
 
so I bought a new set of tires and driven them for 30k miles... the treads are worn...think the manufacturer will replace them with a new set?

Not exactly the same thing now, is it? Now if the treads got worn much earlier than they normally would and/or in some sort of unusual way due to the material that was used or something of that sort, seems like there would be something to it as far as the manufacturer being involved in the sense of dealing with it somehow.

What if the leather seats in your car were worn after 8 months, would you want them replaced?
 
Well new one winging its way to me.... Agreed with me it was "too worn".

This time I even said can I have a silicone for a change, agreed, and also don't have to send my original leather back....

I've heard this too. I guess Apple employees have a lot of latitude to do replacements. If you get a "nice" one on a good day, it's probably possible. And at least in my experience, most of them are nice and having good days! Apple customer service is unparalleled.

I agree, Apple is expensive, but you don't just pay for the product, you also pay for the after sales support. Reason I like Apple, great support for any problems I've had.

I thought I'd ask about the condition of mine, as I know it ages but thought it was worse. They agreed and they are replacing....
