I believe AMEX excludes cell phones from all of it's extended warranties (at least they USED to when they turned me down a couple years ago). Look at the contract posted online (don't call a CSR because they don't really know, they automatically say yes which is what happened t o me). The actual insurance contract can be found online somewhere.

Policy AX0953 has no such exclusion.

I checked my contract (I knew I was keeping all that documentation for something!) I got my AMEX in Feb of '10. They don't mention anything about excluding cell phones. Plus I've read from several folks that have used it to get their iPhones repaired. They must have changed it.

Policy AX0953 has no such exclusion.

Interesting and looks promising. Thanks .... but the disclaimer still worries me:

Please be advised that this document serves only as a description of benefit details and is not a policy or contract of insurance; the actual terms, conditions and exclusions of Policy AX0953 govern the Buyer’s
Assurance Plan.

This still isn't the policy itself, only a description but if dcipjr got service that's good news. When I attempted it, it was definitely excluded. That was a couple years ago.

I got it, but not for warranty repair. Chances are, with Apple's restrictions, nothing I accidentally do to the phone would be covered by AppleCare. I get it for the two years of unlimited tech support.

I have the paper agreement right in front of me (for Amex Blue Cash) and it shows all the same Products Not Covered exclusions as above. I received this agreement in December 2003.

Something isn't right. Was the phone a refurb or not paid in whole by the card? Is this a business card or was the phone for business/work related use?
