I think we have already figured out it's fake I think even the tread starter now realizes it. mind you it's a good knock off. the kind craigslist sellers makes suckers out of. but very fake if you know what to look for. I wish Apple would go after guys like this instead of Samsung, Google and HTC

Yeah bud that's fake.

My golden rule of thumb...... buy only from reputable retailers.... never auction sites & dodgy websites...... period. ;)

Hi guys, basically, work in a nightclub in the UK and found what physically looks like an iPhone 4. We have a policy that if phones aren't collected within 6 weeks, they're yours, with all possible attempts made to find the owner of the phone.

If you didn't hand it into the Police then you haven't taken all the steps to return it to the owner.

Ignoring that its a fake its still theft if you haven't done this as they have access to systems that you don't (http://www.immobilise.com/) in order to return it.

The fact that it has a regular size sim tray and not a micro sim is the most obvious indication just by looking at it.

Just to clarify, i think you have to hand it into the police who hold it for 6 weeks, then after that its legally yours....

You can just keep it in the club for 6 weeks, then claim it as legally yours.

But no-one ever hands anything into the police.:D

this is the new iPhone 5 in the iPhone 4 disguise case.

My golden rule of thumb ... read the first post and the title ... never respond until you do ... period. ;) Why is that you say? Because the guy found the phone in the club that he works at and has held it for 6 weeks. Though making reasonable attempts to find the owner, he cannot. As a result, he has taken the phone home only to find it is a fake iPhone.

The end.

OP, the Apple logo on the back gave it away for me. I know someone said the screen was the giveaway, but I hardly noticed it until I looked at my screen.

Theft by finding is against the law.

Your employer's policy seems to be tantamount to theft by finding. Since a reasonable person would go to the police to report a lost or stolen phone, you should have turned the phone into the police. By keeping the phone you might be breaking UK law. Certainly many have been convicted in the UK for similar actions.

Dude who cares? Really?

Don't you have anything better to do with your life? The phone is fake, end of story. Go troll somewhere else.

Looks the Part

Looks the part!! But just a dud. No wonder they left it behind, probably couldnt get it to work and discarded it like a cheap cigarette lighter.

The OP would care if he/she were arrested. And I seriously doubt that the nightclub's policy would be any defense. just trying to save somebody potential legal issues....

Yeah because the owner of a replica iPhone really cares so much that he will sue.

And if other, more valuable phones were kept due to the nightclub's policy? Besides, keeping somebody's property without there permission is immoral in addition to being illegal. The OP should turn the phone in to the police, and the night club should revise its policy..

I'm more prone to thinking its an un written policy by the night club !!

Nice of you to presume what someone you've never met would care about. Also he wouldnt need to sue in order for the Police to arrest the op.

The ones that spotted it before the side by side comparison is good! I would've never known.

That phone did look real. Some of you are really detail oriented.

Wow, I had no idea they made a fake iPhone 4/4S
I think most people would never know unless you compared it next to the real thing and that's even not so obvious unless you inspect it real close.
