It is a TON of information to bring with you. For example this is most of my music and SEVEN seasons of TV shows! Personally I would be annoyed and cramped with 32gb but I guess if I dumped the music as that is also on my phone I could easily get away with a 32gb and just switch devices when I want music.

16 is fine. No need for more unless you do not connect it to a computer for a long period of time. I'd rather save a few hundred bucks and switch apps on the computer than carry all of it and be short hundreds of dollars in my pocket.

64gb is nice because let's say you go on vacation and want to download images from your camera - with a simple camera connection kit - you can store 20 - 40 gb of raw files as well as video.

I don't think you're ever going to have enough storage space in general. I say err on the side of more is better.

I just connected my iPad to my computer after about a month and it was the most painful PC experience ever right after Microsoft Activesync. The backup took forever, the sync timed out, I had 55 app updates, I had purchases to transfer to my PC, and the 4.3.3 update to do. 45 minutes after I first plugged my iPad I was able to leave. Yay for the death of the PC!

I'll take a terabyte iPad as soon as they make one.....

I don't pirate anything, movies, music, or apps. I am completely against it. It drives me insane when I hear other students in my classes talking about doing such things.

So you don't mind having DRM imposed on your files.... Going through 5+ useless previews of other films etc when you buy a DVD.... Having rootkits installed on your machine as so said 'security' measures...

You must be studying for IP lawyer, otherwise i would question your intelligence and advise you to find something else and stop studying.

Like the good old days of VHS tapes, you never heard of a ff button. On modern media DVD or Blu-ray movies the menu key is a button press away

I don't watch movies on my Mac, it's nice to have the option since Apple provides a rather nice DVD player with OS X. On the PC side of things, I compared the Microsoft supplied DVD player with Vista Ultimate and it was a mess.

Not only do you pay a huge price premium back in the day for an OS with a DVD playback solution on the PC, it just wasn't very well made. On the other hand, you didn't need to install the supplied DVD software included on many DVD movies to boot. Back on the Mac side of things, Apple was kind enough to pay for the licence so the end user of every Mac with a DVD player never had a problem.

In the end, I've never had any issue with root kits when using the DVD player app on any Mac I've ever owned.

Digital distro is way of the future lest we like it or not. Music CD shelves are shrinking as are the video rental stores and even retail sale shelf space as well.

One trend I've noticed was the inclusion of a digital version of many Blu-ray films for retail sale. The DRM on those files doesn't bother me as it never really gets in the way of using said content.
