I am most assuredly not saying that there aren't people who are having screen issues & would never sneer at anybody's aggravation. LOl, I was just seriously wondering if perhaps my eyes aren't discerning enough to spot problems that I would notice if I were more practiced at judging screen quality.
I am sorry for those who end up having to go through the trouble of exchanging devices & hope you get a great screen for your trouble.
This is a nice post.
You probably don't need glasses. Your screen is fine as long as you think it is.
Two things to add...
1. Seeing is no different than any other of the senses...there are many different levels of sensitivity, and not everyone shares the same levels. It can be highly acute naturally, and heightened acuity can also be learned and honed, like learning how to taste wine, or how to hear the difference between good speakers and bad ones. But the average person's natural ability to see, hear, and taste reasonably well is usually good enough.
2. Heightened sensitivity of any kind can be a gift, but it can also be a curse. The more aware you are of something, the more intensely you might enjoy it, but equally possible is intense dissatisfaction.
When I'm at my job as a photo retoucher, I'm thankful for a keen eye for color and detail. But when I'm returning my 6th iPad because the screen is driving me crazy, I wish my eyes weren't so sensitive.
