Also, is it bad if i keep the fans running at 6K RPMs all the time it is plugged in? I like to keep it cool
I assume you're using some 3rd party application to allow manual fan control? Why? Do you know more about microprocessor thermal management than Apple's own engineers? I sure don't. Which is why I let the machine take care of it. Works perfectly for me, and millions of other people.

Actually alot of people use smcfancontrol http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontrol

It lets you set your fans to run at a higher minimum, to keep the system at a cooler baseline. It's a handy little utility, in that it shows you the avg rpm between the fans, or specific figures for each. Some iterations of MBP had some issue of fans not running high enough when needed, allowing internal temperatures to run in excess of 100C:eek:

bot, thank you GGJstudios and bubbacaster, I'll order 8gb of memory from crucial soon. It's so cheap, if it helps my computer perform and be snappier, $70-80 doesn't seem like a lot of money. I only wish Apple gave me 1x4GB instead of 2x2GB, because it seems a waste.

I like to keep it cooler because it gets hot to the TOUCH. Even at 80*.

there is no reason to not get 8 gig of memory for $60 bucks these days. Just get it.

Based on this screen shot, do i need more ram?

Is there a way to save ram? I don't want to upgrade but today i used it as a normal work day machine and it lagged A LOT!

Thanks,

8GB barely enough for me. I might need 16GB if 16GB cost $150

When I sent in my 13" MB unibody to AppleCare for graphics related issue, they must've tested my RAM (all 3rd party, bought and installed myself) and one of the sticks did not test out. They replaced it according to the invoice. So I think it would be YMMV as to if Apple would cover your RAM.

Well that's interesting, sounds like you lucked out on that deal.

The Macuptade bundle came with tech tool pro, it tests your harware. I tested mine and it came alright.
