I have an iPad 3rd gen. I don't get tired holding it ever. But yesterday I was standing and then put it in my hand and was holding it at my side and then it did seem sorta heavy to hold after 5 minutes.

I use on hand to hold the device. Finger(s) from the other hand to operate the device.

Hmmm. I usually hold the edges with both hands and use my thumbs to do most operations. If I really need to use a finger, I guess I hold it one-handed, but it only happens for short periods.

Holding with one hand and using the finger of the other hand to tap the screen is how I use my iphone.

I don't see the big problem.

It goes away after a few hours...

From my experimenting, i prefer the air nakes when im holding it. Even with a smart cpver on, its not mearly as comfy.

Naked ghost armour on back + sleeve = best.

One major reason why I opted for the mini over the larger iPad is the ability to hold the tablet in one hand easily. I can see this being a problem over extended periods but I will say Apple has made it easier and easier with every revision. That is it has become less of an issue with every new iPad released.

Hello, I felt uncomfortable using my relative's iPad 2. I felt like the iPad were pressing my fingers while I was holding it for a short period of time (a few minutes) single handed. Do iPad Air users have similar issue? I wonder if it was due to improper way of holding the device.

iPads 1-4: yes, it got uncomfortable over time. Not too bad, but you notice it.

iPad Air: not at all.

My answer is Yes, which is the main reason I exchanged the Air for a rMini this week. Lovin' it :)

Would never give up the larger screen and saturated colors for the very small difference in weight. I am waiting for the iPad Pro! Few stand for hours holding thei iPad for hours.
