I had several display troubles too, and ultimately gave up and returned the Pro. First one had a white splotch on the screen (somewhat like this). On the second one, the LCD would ripple severely in several spots simply from picking up the device--no squeezing, no unnecessary pressure on the chassis, just picking it up and holding it. Several demo models at the Apple Store also exhibited this issue. Third one had dust laminated between the display and the glass.
That's three strikes, all different problems. I don't expect perfection, and I don't obsessively inspect displays for flaws. But the screen is by far the most important component of a tablet, and for the price Apple's asking for the Pro, it's not unreasonable to expect a certain level of quality.
Quality control seems to suffer a lot during the launch of any Apple product. Maybe they're trying to pump too many of them out or maybe they're just not used to producing the new design yet. In any case, you're better off giving up for now if you have a more critical eye. Having to exchange even once is a frustrating hassle; if you find yourself on number 2 or 3 and you're still having problems, it means that the product isn't ready for prime time.
