I guess it comes down to pricing, when I bought my PS3 at £130 in 2001, the cheapest Xbox was £180... when Sony (and Nintendo) release hardware revisions they make them cheaper and remove features - Microsoft doesn't. They seem keen on keeping their price the same throughout by offsetting the cheaper-with-age thing by adding new features. Which, should have been built-in to begin with. I mean even a super cheap original DS had wifi!I just also find it funny how Sony have removed features and the luxury aspect of the PS3 original to the slim like removing the touch controls and microsoft has added these things, like touch controls and WiFi N. And the newer 360 is quieter then the PS3 slim?? haha
I don't find my Xbox S to be quieter than my PS3 Slim (I've got an old and newer Slim too). I've heard (hoho) the newer crappy PS3 with the sliding disc drawer is louder than the Slim. The only time mine gets louder than my Xbox is when there's a DVD in but only when it's on the XMB screen. For some reason that's really loud.
That's going to make next gen very interesting. We know Sony are going the route of remote streaming to play old games (something I'm not keen on due to input lag), I wonder what MS will do, or if they'll bother at all?But one thing is a shame and that is no easy backwards compatibility if they both go AMD which i think they are, then again they should BOTH get the same games bar the exclusives.
One of the worst parts of the Vita that. It shouldn't be so segmented. It's great that all those little apps can run at the same time as the game is running, though. The whole social thing has me excited for the PS4. To be able to watch friends games seems like a really nifty feature.Benefits of XBL to me are the interface and the way it is fully integrated into the dash as opposed to a separate app, it runs smoother, the social features are better, MS understand game demos are important, it is more secure to an extent.
