Holy crap- Thanks for giving me the heads-up to not clean my iPhone with Windex, because I cleaned it once today and was seriously considering cleaning it more often with it.

I have been using windex wipes on my first gen iphone since I got it and it still looks good as new!

meh... I've used Windex religiously for a year. no problems whatsoever, nor have I heard anyone else having any.

why not just us a damp clothe???
:)

The problems could arise if there are any coatings on the glass that the windex wears off.
I think that this is the issue.

Some cleaners will be abrasive to the finish.

I believe that Windex is fine used in small doses. But other cleaners could have hazardous effects. Better to say no to all than risk missing one.

I just use this. Best $15 I ever spent...it makes the screen feel more...I dunno...it makes it feel better. (And yes, there is an iPhone variant). It doesn't, keeps down the glare, and, best of all, it keeps from scratching. And, it sticks with static, so it doesn't leave any residue behind.

Quick dip in my toilet (AFTER I flush, natch), followed by couple of quick mists from a spritzer spray containing 70% isopropyl alcohol, followed by a rub/wipe on anything soft I happen to be wearing is what I've been doing for an entire year ... probably 4-5 times per week on average.

Phone looks as good as new.
