You won't be able to tell Because you just go from slow charging to slightly less slow charging.
From 5w to 7.5w.
Not much difference.

This.

Wireless charging is more of a convenience feature, with a charger on the bedside table or desk sitting during the day or overnight. If you need to get a fast charge before leaving somewhere, best to stick to wired to get the Amps pushed through.
Maybe Apple will come up with something more game changing in the future, I think Android has done a good job here especially since Qi charging is new to IoS although has been on Android for awhile.

I bought the Belkin Boost UP wireless charger and it works great. It's pretty much identical to the version Apple sells for $80 Canadian but the difference and advantage is that it only comes in black, it's capable of 15W charging and comes with the appropriate power adapter. Also I paid half price on Black Friday (C$40). If ever Apple chooses to increase the charging rate on future iPhones, I'm covered.

Have you tested if it’s really charging at 7.5W?

This would be very easy to tell, just use any of the meters from Amazon that show inline charging specs. I have one and can test tomorrow.

Yep, what he said above.
Give it a few more years.
It will be the main selling feature of the iPhone 12 that can charge at 10w wirelessly:D

I had RAVPower charger that they claim it was fast charger compatible. I installed 11.2 and nope it doesn't do fastcharge and RAVPower now have the excuse saying Apple only supports only certified charge i.e Belkin and Mophie only.

Got my Mophie wireless charger and used it 2 nights but I like my Yootech wireless charger better from Amazon.

I like the status light, bigger sweet spot and price tag $59.99 vs $9.99

So the Mophie is getting returned - I will deal with the slower 5W charging overnight

No need for fast charging if it's sitting on the charger overnight. Non-fast charging will fully charge it if given that much time.

Buying morphie or belkin for $60 is pure wasting money imo. 7.5w slightly faster. If you want quick charge just use ipad adapter

That's what I do. If I know I'll have a couple of hours to let the phone charge, it goes on my Samsung QI pad. If I won't have much time, I plug it in with a lightning cable.
