If you are on Sprint and have the 4S, you DO have visual voicemail. You just haven't set it up. Open phone app, tap voicemail tab, let it dial in and set-up your voicemail, as you need to do when you get a new phone. Next time you go to the voicemail tab, it'll be active for visual voicemail.

+1 mine. My visual vm is also working on Sprint.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4S: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

I am so spoiled with visual voicemail, that I hate checking my VM at work wondering who has left me one until I actually hear it.

It's good that Sprint offers it too for their new iPhone customers.

VVM is working fine on my Sprint 4S and has since I got the phone. You do have to set it up initially but it takes literally less than a minute.

Visual VM is not working for me on Sprint. Calling into voicemail does nothing, there are no settings relevant to visual voicemail in the menus.

Whenever I press the voicemail tab in the phone app, it simply calls my voicemail the old fashioned way.

Solution?

The sounds interesting I would take it to the apple store or call apple, the should happened only on tmobile phones, it should look like this

record your name

I have visual voicemail on Sprint with an iPhone 4s. What's missing is the ability to record my name (not my greeting). There used to be an option with every other phone I owned to record your name, so when you called someone it said "message from Kevin" and when you call yourself to listen to your voicemail the first thing you hear is your name.
That option is missing. It used to be number 4 on the greeting menu: 1 record a personal greeting, 2 use system standard, 3 caller instructions, 4 record your name.
Once again this is not the greeting other callers hear when they call you, it is the name people hear when you call them and leave them a message. Everyone gets confused about this.
Right now it just recites my whole phone number.
I called Sprint twice about it and they said they would get back to me, but I haven't heard anything and it is still missing.
