Are Tim Cook, Ive and the rest of the team at Apple walking around with Otter Boxes and silicone cases on their phones...?

I wonder how they organize their apps too...

I never thought of it. I'd imagine the guy behind the design isn't sticking his phone in an ugly & bulky otter case.

Someone asked this during a Q&A with all of them on stage, I think it was during the antennagate keynote.

They all pulled out their phones and none of them had any sort of case.

I very much doubt they protect them in cases. Think of the bad PR that would create. Plus I doubt they have to queue in the Apple store or pay for replacements considering their profile within Apple. Have you thought they might be able to replace their handsets a little more often than we do?

There was a story about a Mercedes engine designer who was a maniac on the road. Someone said to him "they way you drive, you're going to destroy the engine". Reply: "So what, I'll just design a better one".

I doubt any of them are allowed to use cases. To do that would be indirectly admitting that the phone is not built from solid materials, and would be covering their own design. I'm sure the head honchos can just swap out phones easily when they damage or lose them

Well, I'm not Cook or Ive or any of those guys, but I've never put a case on any of my iPhones ... and I've had every model of iPhone the day they were released. I love the tactile experience of handling the raw phone.

Hell no. If they dent it, they just print a new one. They have all kinds of amazing gizmos in the super top secret apple labs!

The 5S will look almost the same as the iPhone 5 so there isn't much to hide.
Every 2 years that they do a major redesign it would be worth to hide and stick in a case to avoid anyone spotting it.

Why would the likes of Tim Cook bother to put a case on his phone? If he ran over it with his car today, do you think it would be any sweat of his back to get another? He probably has a drawer full of them just in case he has company and wants to give a gift for dropping by.

Wrong. It's reported that employees on campus wear thick bulky cases to cover the new pill designed led and the home button sensor.
