OP, basically you saying that you can't afford new phone every year, but in the same time you can't resist the temptation... so you hoping they will have 2 years gap between new releases.

In the real world, outside these forums, i don't know anyone that buys new flagship phone every year, usually they will keep their phone till its outdate, broken or lost before they'll get new one.

No I'm not saying I can't afford a phone every year. I'm saying with every new phone release there something not ready. Take the iPhone 8 supposedly wireless charging not ready and will be released later on. Samsung bixby not ready it came later. So why not release phone when everything ready not before

Got your point, you're not willing to buy un-finished flagship phone, aka being a paying beta tester. In that case you should stay away and wait for the 'S' version, thats where they usually fix most of these problems...

I personally think new phones should released every 2 years. The reason is apple production delays and they didn't have time to figure out fingerprint scanner under screen. Same with Samsung they rushed and put fingerprint scanner in stupid place. And months of telling us how great bixby was and it didn't come to phones until months later. I think they rush these new phones and the user suffers
the same could be said about motorized transport vehicles.

No.
They said a new apple wireless charger is coming with improvements.

Wireless charging on the iphone 8 and X will work with third party Qi chargers on release day.

Yes because that way we only have to wait 12 months after the piece of **** X that Apple put out this year.

We may not need a new iPhone every year but I think Apple needs to release one every year. Not everyone upgrades on the same cycle. Apple's single largest revenue stream comes from the iPhone and people are buying new iPhones all the time. If they skipped a year their shareholders would like have a meltdown and their value will fall. The annual release cycle works for them it allows them to compete in a crowded marketplace and maintain their superior position. If they skipped a year the whole machine starts to fall apart. None of their competitors will stand still and two years in the mbile market is a long time. I mean even looking from the 6S+ to the 8+ there is a very large list of changes.

You need to look from a supplier stand point and not from a user standpoint on why this makes sense.

Hardware changes very fast, at least for CPU/GPU. We all know phones tend to get slower over time, so when it's time to buy a new one, you "need" or at least "want" a model that is not more than 1 year old. So yes we need new phones every year. Do we need a new design? No. The cycle of "S" was very good in my opinion. Just change the CPU and minor updates, not to make people change every year but so the ones who need to change phone right now can opt for a newer version.

Totally agree! And it's not Apple fault if fanboys complain everytime there is no new features just because they feel they need to buy the new model no matter what! I don't understand why anyone would have a complain or a problem with a realase every year. Just don't buy it every year. Some realese have to be a spec bump to stay competitive and some have to be a design change to stay innovative and make people switch.
