I thought it was sheer stupidity to just make the iphone 5 longer not wider but now in hindsight it was ingenious,do I thing it will work again? No! Now do I want a bigger screen? Yes but its gonna have to be a sweet spot if I wanted to carry around a ipad mini all day thats what I would do I would say somewhere between 4.3 and 4.7 would be a good starting point but what do I know.

No size is best for everyone so Apple makes the size that fits the most people.

I think that most people just get used to whatever size phone they are using. I was perfectly happy with my 3.7" phone's size. When I upgraded the only phone I really wanted had a 4.8" screen. It took some time, but I eventually got used to it.

I find phone manufacturers don't offer a lot of choice in terms of screen sizes if you want the high end device. Smaller screen sizes tend to come with other compromises. You buy the phone you like and just accept the screen size it comes in.

In my opinion, Apple should introduce a bigger screen iPhone as part of its lineup. I'm not sure how they position it - perhaps they make a big screen option as part of the "c" line while keeping the same screen size for the "premium phone." Maybe they introduce two "premium" phones. But I think it is time Apple introduces the option, similar to how they introduced the iPad mini. Would I buy a bigger screen iPhone? I dunno. I like the current form factor, but I am not 100% against change.

That last sentence doesn't make sense to me.

Ok say you have to have an apple phone but you also have to have the fastest processor but they only make it in a 4 inch model even though you would really like a bigger screen your just gonna accept the 4 inch model because internally and software wise its what you like.....wait that doesnt make much sense either but thats what they were trying to say.............I think

I really hope they make a bigger iPhone screen im really starting to get tired of this retina display... Its been 4 years with the same resolution, I would like to see something sharper than 960x640 or 1136x640 that's not even HD yet... I use devices that I currently own like the Nexus 4 and the Samsung GS4 and yes its a little bit harder to use with one hand, but you get used to it, pictures, videos, movies, TV shows looks better and is more enjoyable on a bigger screen! Don't get me wrong I love my 5S and what it can do I just feel it could do it better with a bigger screen.

I bought the iPhone 5c because my 4s was stolen. I would have preferred a larger screen. The current screen is just too small for me to read text off certain apps. Just because apple is selling the iPhone well does not mean that consumers love the current screen size. For me I have a large iTunes library which I did not want to migrate elsewhere. Please do no translate high sales figures into consumers being totally happy witht he current screen size.

I wouldn't want anything bigger than the 5S, my sister got the 5, and it's ok, I have the 4S now and have a gold 5S shipping.

If I need something bigger, there's the iPad mini, but for an everywhere carry around phone, keep the current form factor please.

Bigger is better.

Why do you compare a phone with a tablet? People who wants a iPad mini wants it because they want a smaller tablet than the normal size iPad not because they want a bigger screen on their phones... I mean come on....

If you want an iPhone, you just have to accept that it only comes in the 4" size (for the latest models). If you want a high end Android phone, you have to accept that it comes with a 5" (or so) screen. There are smaller Android phones, but they cut other things as well as the screen size. You cannot buy a high end Android phone with a 4" screen like you cannot buy an iPhone with a 5" screen.

Last year, I wanted a high end Android phone. Even though I only wanted a 4" phone, I had to settle for a 4.8" screen. Over time, I got used to the larger screen size.

Coming from a nexus 4 that had a 4.7 inch screen
Bigger isn't always better
It can be hard to hold comfortably with one hand
I had to text with 2 hands because stretching my thumb around the screen was a bit annoying

yes apple needs to make a bigger screen. They can make two iphone sizes, not a huge deal, every other product they make comes in multiple sizes. Laptops, ipads, imacs.

Just because YOU don't want a bigger screen doesn't mean I do not. Also I prefer iOS over Android at this point, so "get an android" responses are immature and whiney.

Get over it, apple will make a bigger phone next year.

Apple will make a bigger phone next year? You stand by that comment? It took them 5 years to finally increase the screen size on the 5 I doubt they'll be going bigger any time soon.

Don't need or want bigger screen. I want easy one hand use (though to be fair with my mitts I can use the 5"-ers one handed). I also want easy front pocket fit. I think I'd prefer even the 3.5 inch size in a super sleek package if there was not battery life compromise. The smaller the phone the better in my book. Tablets are available for activities where larger screens are helpful.

I really hope that next year Apple offer a phone that is bigger, and one that is the same size. By that I mean the one that is the size of this year's model to have next years spec, and not obviously inferior to the bigger one.

The problem is once you go bigger its very hard to go back. I've been using a 4.5 screen android and want to go iphone but every time I go to the store I can't get past the smaller screen size.

I like the screen. If they can somehow make it bigger screen while keeping the same size then I would be okay w something bigger.

Note true for me. I had a bigger display, and immediately went back to the iPhone. So if its OK for you, doesn't mean, once you go bigger, its hard to go back. That's just a simple reply from those that want bigger, doesn't mean everyone, and wish what you posted would not be posted so often because its not true for everyone. ;)

I have a 5 and I like it. I wouldn't mind a slightly larger screen. In fact, I would like a slightly larger screen, but not huge like some of the big ones I have seen in the stores.

Edit: A comfortable fit in my pocket is important, which is why I wouldn't want it too much bigger.

Is bigger better?
This topic has already been beaten beyond death in countless prior threads. However, even if one wasn't aware of that it is a given that better is always highly subjective no matter what the topic. Some want a bigger screen. Some do not. We're not all identical in our needs/wants.
