I've noticed that when I'm done use my 6, and want to sleep it, I accidentally press the volume buttons right before pressing the sleep button. This causes the sleep button to not sleep the phone, and you have to press it a few times to get it to sleep...

I know it's a minor thing, but I'm just wondering if anyone else found it slightly annoying?? I feel like it should still sleep the phone even if the volume button is pressed first.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one... I really wouldn't mind if pressing the volume button didn't prevent the sleep button from working. I'm hoping that Apple will notice this and change it in a future software update, but I'm not holding my breath for it...

It prevents the phone from sleeping because you don't want to accidentally sleep your phone while changing the volume! I've accidentally pressed the sleep button while trying to turn up the volume.

The real problem is the poorly thought out placement.

No, but I used to do this with my Nexus 5. Took a while to get used to the new button placement so you could switch off without changing the volume.

I am apt to do the opposite. I want to raise or lower the volume and turn off the phone.

I tested a Galaxy S4 last year with a similar setup. I HATED it then.

And I still don't like it.

Its funny because i naturally try to lock it from the top. I find it much easier to lock it that way then the side

Yeah, this was a poor decision that made sense in theory but doesn't hold out in practice. The buttons are stiff to press so you try to counter the force with your other fingers naturally but the volume controls sit where those fingers go. The top placement would still have worked fine.

Too much time playing with watches and not enough spent on the main product it seems... Just poor ergonomics and lack of in-use development.

All the time I'm pressing the volume up instead of the lock button.

For me, I wish the button sides were reversed. Not sure why, just how I always seem to grab it.

thiought i would never see such an ill-conceived placement of buttons on the 6. The TOP was fine. Moved to the right side, now I am constantly mis-adejusting the buttons for the volume when trying to turn off my phone.

Worst design flaw ever.
