Yep, I use Dashboard. I use 18 different widgets. I'd love to use more, but I don't like my dashboard being too crowded.

yep.. and its quite useful too. have about 6 clocks running. weather, calculator, istat pro, calendar!

I use it constantly by pressing down on mouse wheel.

Stocks, calculator, weather, doppler radar, iStat, Whoopie Cushion, Loop Rumors, Panda Cam, Garage Sale, Metric converter, App update, stickies (currently showing my haircut appt).

I'd be miserable without Dashboard.

I use WeatherBug and RadarInMotion every day and iStat Pro occasionally. You should definitely turn off the ones you don't use. Having every widget on the Dashboard makes it as unusable as having every application on the Dock.

memory usage

I had a fair number of widgets installed until I looked at their memory usage under activity monitor. I was surprised at how much they used -- often 15-25 Mb each. If you're anywhere near the edge of running out of memory, which the analysis I run on this mbp puts me near, using widgets can have a pretty negative impact on performance. If I had the money, I'd spring for one that can take the 4 gb and love it, but as it is I'm "stuck" with the original core duo and its 2 gb limitation...

I don't use it often, but I'm glad it's there. Every now and then I'll need to know the def. or spelling of a word, and I have the dictionary widget waiting on me. The calculator feature is nearly useless on a laptop, but I could see it being handy with a desktop.

I used to keep a comics widget available for when class was REALLY boring, but I don't use that much anymore, either. I don't have a clock or calendar in my menu bar b/c I have them enabled on the dashboard, and it's much nicer. When I have to use PCs I really missing having it available...

So I guess I'm saying that while I don't use it much, I would miss it if it were gone.
