I hope you're kidding. I'm all for people doing what they want. I couldn't do this ONCE, let alone every night.

No I'm serious. We have Huge TVs all over the house, but I prefer to watch them on my iPhone before I go to sleep. :) watching movies on my tv drives me crazy. I hate the way movies go from barely being able to hear to a thunderous roar. With a 3 month old and a 3 year old it's agony.

ETA... I don't watch action movies though... They move too fast and it just looks like a blur..

I used to watch shows on my phone in bed, but it's just to small. A 4" screen wouldn't change that. I don't even particularly enjoy watching movies on my girlfriends iPad.

I watch movies and TV shows on my iphone when I'm in bed and feeling lazy. I download them with the safari download manager or stream them with mplayer. It's awesome watching anything I want in under a minute from streaming sites. Now I have an android tablet so I guess I won't use the iPhone as much but sometimes it's easier to prop the iphone on a small pillow and watch it.

Not replying to poll since I don't know what the --- .avi means.

But my response is heck no. Screen is too small. I like my movies on big screens with big audio. That being said, I'm currently on a trip to Asia and having my iPad loaded with movies was a lifesaver.

In four years, I have only watched two movies. One of them was because it was the only way I could watch the HD version.

So you would watch a movie on a tiny screen in HD even though the screen can't display the HD? Your logic chip is broken. :p

Nope. I'll maybe put the occasional video podcast to watch when I'm bored an need to catch up on it, but not movies. The screen is just too small to watch movies on it effectively. That's why I have other devices which suit the need better.

I don't watch them from start to finish, but I have watched a few on my iPhone when I have absolutely nothing else I could be doing with my time. The only time I would is when I'm on a flight, which will be in about a week. Still need to decide which movies to sync with me.

only once, but deleted it. battery drained super quick (obviously) and needed some space. i do have some shows on my iTunes (ESPN 30 for 30 & family guy) but only add them when i go out of town for a trip.

When flying, I enjoy watching videos on the spacious 4.5" display my Android phone features. I'd really be happy with a modern sized display on my iPhone.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A5302b Safari/7534.48.3)

No, I don't. I can't stand the small screen. 3.5" is so 2007.

I would never watch a movie I really wanted to "see" on my iphone, but I constantly play movies I have seen before (or am not 100% interested in) on my phone in the background of whatever I am doing.

I watch movies on my iPhone quite often. I watched the whole season of Game of Thrones right on my phone. It was not a problem for me. More often though I am watching movies on the TV from my iPhone via the component cables. Now that is great!

Not really sure what the "avi" option is supposed to mean, but no, not generally, too small and if I'm somewhere long enough to watch a movie I'll probably have my laptop with me.

well as you know avi is a movie format so it was a cleaver way of saying "nope" you know nope.avi like thats the name of the movie file

----------

never a fully movie i cant hold my device in front of me for a whole movie , but clips for sure

Watching a movie on your iPhone, 18" from your face, is about the equivalent of watching a 30" TV, 8-feet away.
I think the people saying that the screen is too small must be pretty spoiled.
:p

even funnier are the people that say 3.5 is too small but 4 is perfect, last time i looked at a ruler a half inch didnt look too big

Not regularly, but I have and before I got the kids the iPad2 they did as well.

There are two things you need to look for in your next TV then: Auto-volume and 240mhz!

Because its out of context when you just look at a ruler. Compare a 3.5" screen to a 4" screen and it can make a world of difference. Not that I want a 4" screen though. I'm happy with the smaller form factor and high resolution.

I usually have my iPhone sitting on my custom stand made from office supplies, half paying attention to movies that are playing while I work. With Netflix and unlimited data, I don't usually keep too many movies on my phone now but I used to have 2-3 at a time. I had 6 video files and hardly any songs on my phone at one point: Lord of the Rings special edition DVD rips! And just yesterday, I watched Tron Legacy that is stored locally on my phone and then I watched Iron Man 2 on Netflix.

If by "spoiled" you mean I have a larger TV at home, and a laptop or PSP to watch movies off of when I'm traveling any significant distance, then yes, I'm spoiled. I'll watch netflix off of there if I'm stuck somewhere for 20 minutes, but it's not really practical or comfortable.

Tried it a few times and the screen is just too small. Youtube videos, trailers, or anything less than 15 minutes is OK. Anything more than that is just plain stupidity. However on an iPad, I have no problem watching full length movies.

is it just the length of the video that size matters or do you not use the iphone for any picture/video viewing becasue its too small?
