(heck of a bump by xthine)...

I work out. Always have.

But, the watch makes me get up more often to move around. I take walks at work now.

It actually helps to clear the mind for some more power coding.
Same for me. I remember thinking how silly the Stand reminder would be -- it seemed like a "because we can, we will" mini-feature.

I decided to play along with it, and by golly, I started to feel better. Not amazingly better, but as the days went on, my body was less sore, and my mind felt a little fresher.

I lost 80lbs 2 years ago and gained 40 of t back so I'm hoping the Watch will inspire me a little to hit the road again.
Fitness is a life long journey and NOT a destination. It is good to have goals but that are only rewards along the way and NOT a stopping point.

I did convert to a healthy lifestyle for about 2 years. Then I had to start traveling for work all the time and living out of hotels put the lbs back on me.

It can be done while traveling. The hardest part is getting out of the airplane and car seat often enough. The second hardest part (but probably more important) is finding good food -- not decadent food, but good food.

I took workout clothes, videos, and resistance bands on most of my travels. Didn't leave any room for my excuses. If a hotel didn't have a free gym, or if the roads weren't safe for a jog, I still got it done.

I still struggle with travel and excercise. If you're travelling by yourself, it's easy, but when you travel with a group, it's a little more difficult.

Sometimes, you just have to let your travel companions know that you're working out and not being an anti-social ****. They'll respect you for it ... I think.

For me it's been tough. 10 hour wor day at the site, 2 hours of paperwork at night after work. No kitchen to prepare good food so you end up eating for convenience which is never good for you.

It's kind of disappointing that they don't reward you after hitting your step goal. I also have a Fitbit Blaze and hitting 10,000 steps is kind of a big deal when you get it. With the AW there's no congratulations or anything. There's the badges but they aren't too exciting. I wish it would show a simple balloons or fireworks once you hit your step goal. That would make me more motivated to walk more.

There is an app called Pedometer I think that will shower your screen with confetti when you hit your step goal. :) might require you to click on it, but it does have a complication.

I like the idea of any improvement for motivation. Many people don't need it, but others like to have that extra flash or badges or bells and whistles.

I use this app called Pedometer++. It gives you a confetti animation when you hit your steps goal.

Apple's activity app should give you a notification when you reach your activity goal, but they are easy to miss if you get a lot of notifications.

One way to help with motivation is on Monday is open the Activity app on your :apple:Watch and 'Force Touch' the 3 circles to get a weekly total. Shoot for about 14K a day and you will have 100K on Monday. Take a screen shot and post on this thread. I will award you some fireworks or balloons. :D
