Absolutely never. Have got a list of aliases as long as my arm... and a bridge in London I'd like to sell you.

nope. similarly to BV i have a large list of different names that i can go by, but more recently i've been trying to consolidate haha.

it'd be interesting if your name were g. rapes. the 911 makes it funnier. ;)

Over 10 years ago, I signed up for Aol. My nickname at the time was grapes which as already taken. Aol suggested names like grapes205, grapes9843, etc, etc. I figured I'd never remember those names so I needed a number that was common. 911 was just coming to my area, so the number was everywhere -- billboards, commercials, the radio. About 5 years later I became a volunteer firefighter. Everyone I met thereafter thought the 911 came from me being a firefighter. I guess it did make sense from their perspective. About a year or so ago, I tried signing up for the SportingNews. They rejected grapes911 because it contained a 'inappropriate word'.

I used to be Wordmunger practically everywhere. Now as Cognitive Daily gets bigger I find myself using my real name as a login more and more (Dave Munger). But I doubt I'll ever give up my handle completely.

I'm a member of like 25 different forums. If I had to think of which screen name goes with which, it'd get confusing real quick. I think there's a kitty cat forum somewhere where I'm OwnerOperator. :p

Wow, I always use the same one for personal sites.

I never thought of the fact that you could trace all my internet presences to me through similar usernames. At least I try to keep my posts at a level I can be happy to attach my name to!

i have another user name i like to use in places where i don't want my gender to be apparent.

I do the same now and then, and it's always interesting to see what pronouns people use to refer to me.

As for screennames, I generally use one personal one I've had since highschool, based on a greek muse. But the more recent ones, I try to be more anonymous. Part of it for me is the internet personal life backlash thing. Facebook was awesome when only a few people had it. Now there's myspace too and everyone can find out everything (well lots) about everyone, so I prefer to remain anonymous now and then.

I usually use the same username but lately it's been different. I've been trying to think up new combinations or what not to make a new screenname that I will frequently use so I'm in limbo right now.. haha.

I chose Abstract because Obvious was taken.

Actually, this is the only board I visit now, so I guess this is the only name I use. If I comment on another website, I use the name IanK because it's my first name and last initial.

And so you know........Abstract has nothing to do with abstract things. I was writing a physics lab report for uni and was in the middle of writing the abstract section of my report. I didn't choose this name to make it seem as though my thoughts are abstract and different, or that I'm intelligent and deep, because I'm......like.....totally not deep. Like, whatever.

for years, i changed screennames and e-mail addresses like i changed underwear. when i signed up for AOL my first year of college, i picked my username very carefully and went with something very unique. i used that screenname for everything....when i registered on website, for other chat programs, on forums and message boards.....everything!

last year when my husband and i moved, i finally cancelled AOL and we got DSL. i celebrated by getting rid of the old screenname and went with ezzie1029.

the "ezzie" part comes from my parents....for whatever reason, when i was wee little my dad used to call me ezmarelda (my name is kelli  ) and when i got a bit older my mom began calling me "ezzie lu" (my middle name is luanne)...and they still refer to me as "ezzie lu".

the "1029" part comes from my wedding date....October 29th of last year. ;)

I always try to use Jasonbot, a combination of my name and surname (Jason Botha) But in the past I have been known as M4d_Kw4k3r But I would always forget where to put 1337 sp33k and where the normal sp33k was so I gave up on it.

I don't always use the same one. AppleDuck is just used here. For all my pet rescue related message boards I use PupBenedict. For other message boards I use something duck related. I'm DucksRMagical and MagicDucks at Harry Potter message boards. For other boards, I'm DuckGirl.
