I KNOW there will be new iPhone hardware this summer.
I know for sure from all the stuff developers have found in the 3.0 beta.
I know for sure from all the stuff developers have found in the 3.0 beta.
Do you even read macrumors? Or any other gadget bog?
Yes, I read and research everything. If there was a new iPhone in the making it would first have to be approved by the FCC as was the 3g. I found the 3g info on the FCC site in December of 2007. If there was going to be a new iPhone it would have already been at the FCC for approval https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=965776&native_or_pdf=pdf and here https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=952923&native_or_pdf=pdf
No you didn't. The iPhone 3G wasn't found on the FCC site until June 2008. See here.
Apple might have already applied, but they can request that FCC not release results until after the device is announced, just like they did with the iPhone 3G.
Obviously, regardless of what rumors say, the iPhone has to go through a yearly cycle. Otherwise, hardware-wise, it would lag behind others. On the software front it might make up for some mistakes, but still, thats not enough in this market.
My guess for WWDC subject to change:
Within a similar form factor - maybe a new bezel, but yes, and with
- magnetometers
- upgraded auto-focus 3.2 / 5Mp camera
- 32GB
- Better GPS (Epsons-Infineon one) likely
- A decent bump in the processor/graphics either upgrading the current versions to the next line up from the manufacturers, or going Tegra/other from Nvidia. Faster CPU, more memory
If they've got any new tech from batteries - it's going in there too.
And a rumor gamble i've just thuoght about
- A new dock with possibilities for A/V wired or wireless connections galore.
Yes,
though I'll try and be good and hold off trading my 3G in for another year whey I can get the summer of 2010 model.
(as long as the battery dosn't compleately die before then, then I'll have to trade up.... Well of course I will have to.)
Correct. However, as soon as Apple applies for permission the files are loaded in the database and can be seen just not accessed by everyone. A reasonably intelligent person can put two and two together and only a selected few can access them.![]()
don't worry about hat, Apple will replace your batter once it reaches a low enough health.
Again, not true. Even the listing for previous iPhones have not been visible until after the announcement.
I should know, I was checking once a day until the iPhone 3G was announced - nothing.
Incorrect, your not looking in the right place.
Exactly.
I don't understand why there are people on this forum (OP included) who refuse to understand that even though there is no hard evidence, the iPhone must, has, and will always go through a yearly cycle. Look at iPods, nearly a refresh a year, and it makes way more sense for apple to release software and hardware simultaneously as the new phone will most likely be able to take advantage of 3.0 better than the current 3g and 2g.
It's coming. No discussion necessary.
