Do you covet your lightning cable?

Ok maybe I'm a little more attached to mine than most but I love exclusivity of it.

They can't easily make knock offs anymore.

Makes me feel like I have a pretty exclusive cable with a special chip and all!

i'd rather a knockoff and 50% knocked off the price as a result.

Definitely. I never thought that would be a big deal.

When Phil told us I was like "REALLY APPLE? BIG DEAL!"

Now I'm really enjoying it.

Enjoy it so far.

Used to have issues with knockoff 30 pin cables.
Some wouldn't charge, some wouldn't sync, static on audio etc.

Curious to see how the knock offs will work.

Actually I do love 'em. They work great. I have three of them. Screw the knockoffs. I'm sure they will be nothing but trouble anyway.

The only downside I see to it is how exposed it is. It is easier to get damaged.

I bought an extra one when they were available but then yesterday I needed one in my car and forget it at work. Called the local Sprint store and picked up two for $ 34 with taxes. I was all prepared to give my sisters number because I have Verizon but the manager didn't ask for it.
Yesterday I was not a fan of the new cable however now that I have spares like my collection of the 30 pin cables - life is good

Apple covets my money, nothing else matters. There are no choices if one likes to use an iPhone like I do. Apple dictates... nothing new.

I love that it is a real chunk of metal instead of some crappy folded sheet metal stock - which is pretty much everything else. Plus, what it replaced was one of the most vulnerable connectors ever...made me cringe to think of pressure being applied to it up and down.

I'd really like it if new Macs came with FEMALE lightning connectors - then you could have a truly awesome charge cable with no USB crap...and using less room.

LOL I was thinking the same thing!

But it's just a cable folks. Exclusivity just means that Apple can set the price artificially high if they want.

As soon as there is a reliable 3P Lightning cable I will be buying them.
