Here's a good one my brother did (and shows you can be smart and stupid at the same time). He got a 1540 on his SATs and entered in his name wrong. It wasn't a problem but hillarious because the score was always reported with the misspelled name.

Ah, but you didn't go to the genius bar and waste a half hour of their time and 2 hours of yours (waiting for the genius bar) only to say "ZOMG! B does not equal O"

I'm so glad someone else does dumb things like this. I felt SO alone.
Even my windows-usin' momma was makin' fun of me!
Sounds like the so-called "genius" couldn't figure it out either, so maybe it wasn't such an obvious mistake?
I felt pretty stupid the other day. I was sitting at a red light waiting to go, and I could have sworn I saw it turn green. Yet the car in front of me didn't move, so I start honking and yelling at him and generally making a fool of myself. Turns out the light hadn't changed after all, it was still red. Not as red as my face, mind you. What's the hand signal for "oops, I'm stupid AND blind?"

Oh man. Want to talk about stupid?

This morning, for some odd reason, I woke up at 9:01. I thought, OH ****! Quickly threw my clothes on, and RAN out the room because I was LATE FOR CLASS! But... on my way running there, I suddenly realized... 9:01? Class starts at 10, not 9, what the ****? Embarrassed at myself, I turned back, and went back to my dorm... and realized I left my keys AND wallet inside. I had to persuade the on duty RA to give me the backup key without my ID, get in, get my stuff, and then went back to return the key and pay the $1 fee.

Nope that's not it. So I got about 45 minutes left, right? Extra sleep! I went to bed. And got up at 10:42. I set the alarm for 9:45 PM, not AM.

Worst. Morning. Ever.

I did that on my PSATS last year. When I started to get mail from colleges with my name spelled wrong on every single one, I suddenly went "oops." :p

Naw, I didn't bring in the router.
And Aaron was helping me-- he's the man. He's a genius-genius not a genius "I'm-doing-this-job-until-I'm-out-of-College" genius.

*smacks head*
Router.. typo...

Whatever. The day I fixed the router I also found an $8 prom dress so I'm happy.

/it's a real designer
//shelli segal
///her other stuff sells for like $250
////CHEAP PROM! YES!
/////who wants to go with? KT has no date!

Off topic... but a continuing topic in your posts:

when is prom??? Where I went to school, it was in May, meaning you're a little too worried a little too soon. Abstract still has time to buy tickets, and, hey, maybe Aaron could be persuaded. ;) Of course, if it's next week, then never mind...

Related, and OT, one of my stupidest mistakes was not asking Mary Zetterberg to the prom. And breaking up with Susie Weir. And... by gosh, almost all of the stupidest things I've done were either directly or indirectly related to women. To be clear: my stupidity, not the fault of the women.

Ah, life....

Uhm.. it's ivory coloured?

*shrug*
alls I know is that I paid $8.

Oh man.. that'd be so sad.. taking my PB to prom. :(

/gonna ask a clerk
//"Hey, hot stuff. Can I use your employee discount?"
///"Go home, KT! You've been here 5 times this week and it's only tuesday!"

May.
I just saw this $8 and could not say no!
Aaron is a not into ladies (how I wish I were a man! Woe is me! :p)

Ah, your IQ varies inversely with the number of women you're around.
no women= 130
women= 10

Ah, yes yes yes.. I see.... VERY interesting.. :p

While the 130 is a bit demeaning ;), I suppose the rest does explain why so many of my posts in your threads are so dumb. ;)

Anyway, have you even asked Abstract?

Far too many to count. Even with the extremely high IQ. I think smart people miss the details, and that's where all the good stuff is.

... what was I talking about again?

Edit: Oh, plus as said above, dumb around women. I could tell you stories of the stupid things I've done because of women. But I'm not going to because this is a family forum and I don't want to scare the youngsters. One time there was fire involved.

Too much alcohol is bad too.

Who is this Aaron you speak of. Is there something going on that I should know about?

I didn't realize that I missed my EE final until the next week. The professor said I should be sent to Singapore to be caned.

I sat the wrong final once. It took me an hour to figure out why my psychology paper had so many questions about fiscal policy in it.

It's probably not quite as stupid as it sounds because my uni holds all the exams in one room. It is a very big and scary room, more of a warehouse really.

I've done lots of things like that. I switched a ] for a } and ended up spending 2 days trying to debug the code.

If I were 17 years younger I would.

My prom sucked. That whole night actually had several of my stupidest moments. The girl I should have taken actually wound up going with a guy she met on the internet (yes 17 years ago)

Aaron = the man, head genius at Houston Galleria Genius bar.

and I dunno.

*shrug*

jsw has taken it upon himself to find me a date?

Standard 2005 teenager response:
ZOMG THE INTERNETS EXISTED 17 YARS AGO!?121@!@!!!#!@!

;)

I once spent two straight nights, about 8 hours of time, trying to figure out why I couldn't get any sound out of my PC speakers. I uninstalled and reinstalled drivers, I reinstalled Windows, and I even reformatted the hard drive and reinstalled EVERYTHING... and THAT'S when I noticed that I'd accidentally pulled the speaker cable out of the headphone jack on the back of my PC with my foot.

These things happen. The important thing is to learn your lesson and not make the same dumb mistake a second time. ;)

That's classic clayj. Having spent enough time with Windows to know that any problem, no matter it's insignificant size, is to be overcome with a reformat and reinstall, I have full empathy for you.

Duff-Man says...I'd take you Katie as you are such a hoot and make me laugh but I'd probably get arrested (or at very least some really nasty "you old dirtbag" looks) so I will leave it to matchmaker jsw....oh yeah!

Ooof, I feel your pain about the windows.
I get to re-download drivers for the speakers like every week! BLARRH!

How did this turn into "find kt a prom date" thread?
Are y'all just finding me a date so we can post the same stupid story from two POVs?

"So, we went to the Apple Store for a pre-prom party and I was drinking a Sprite right next to the PowerBooks. I've never seen KT cry so much."

Oh.. Nooooesss....
